Xiaomi officially launched its new flagship Xiaomi Mobile 4 on July 22. Unlike the previous flagship top configurations, Xiaomi 4 did not show overwhelming performance advantages this time, but improved other user experiences while maintaining high-end performance levels. From the perspective of hardware specifications, the Xiaomi 4 Unicom version has several hardware improvements compared with the Xiaomi 3 Unicom version. From the above tests, the theoretical test performance of Xiaomi 4 is not very outstanding. The flash point is the RAM Copy speed in A1 SD Bench, which has reached the level of 10000MB/s. It seems that Xiaomi 4 is powerful in memory. In other tests, as a mobile phone equipped with MSM8274AC, the performance of Xiaomi 4 met our expectations and the needs of most users. However, this level is still some distance from the ultimate performance. Before the deadline, the mobile phone with the strongest CPU performance was from the Samsung Galaxy S5 (Exynos 5422), while the mobile phone with the strongest GPU was from the Samsung Galaxy S5 Broadband LTE-A (Snapdragon 805). Xiaomi wants to take the first place in performance, and I'm afraid it will wait until the next flagship is released.

The HDR effect of Xiaomi 4 is still very significant, but the processing effect is a bit exaggerated, resulting in serious distortion of some picture details and unnatural transition. In addition, it is worth mentioning that Xiaomi 4 supports hardware real-time HDR. After being enabled, the imaging speed of HDR shooting will be greatly improved, and there is almost no need to wait.

From the comparison of the above three photos, the high dynamic flash of Xiaomi 4 looks more natural than the normal flash. It is achieved by combining the effect of two photos of turning off the fill light and turning on the fill light. The above example is an extreme case. If the light is more sufficient, the effect will be more obvious.
From the actual photo samples, the clarity of Xiaomi 4 in daylight imaging is satisfactory, but the author suspects that the camera deliberately reduces the color saturation due to the high saturation of the screen. In this way, the color of the photo will be balanced when it is displayed on Xiaomi 4, while the color saturation of the same photo is low when viewed on other devices. In the night scene, the combination of IMX214 and large aperture lens ensures the brightness of the night scene of Xiaomi 4, but the algorithm and anti glare performance of the night scene still need to be improved.

From the situation of this initial evaluation, the performance of Xiaomi 4 is still impressive. Better workmanship and fuselage design than ever before, as well as considerable performance improvement, make this new flagship of Xiaomi more competitive. Xiaomi 4 has adopted a new screen panel and camera module. The benefits of hardware upgrade are obvious to all, but there is still much room for improvement in screen color matching and camera optimization. On the basis of SoC, Ram, eMMC and other basic performances, the configuration of Xiaomi 4 has also reached the current high-end level. I believe we will not be disappointed in the smoothness and response speed of the whole machine. In addition, for Xiaomi 4 at this stage, many users are disappointed that it does not support 4G. After all, mobile 4G has been commercially available, and China Unicom and Telecom 4G have also begun to try out in many cities. The first batch of Xiaomi 4 supports WCDMA and GSM networks. Compared with Xiaomi 3, the improvement of Xiaomi 4 in all aspects is obvious, but the removal of an LED fill light and the lack of NFC module are puzzling. The difference of 500 yuan between the two companies is due to better airframe design, materials and overall improved performance. Personally, the author recommends Xiaomi 4.
