But from this year's IMX214 to Samsung's ISOCELL and Sony's new IMX220 series IMX240, It seems that the battle of cell phone manufacturers to spell out parameters has been burning to the camera and other devices.

And without exception, every family said they took pictures of cows. But the question arises, which one is better at photographing? In order to solve this problem, the foreign media recently brought a bunch of flagship ships for photos and comments.

The test objects include Samsung's new flagship Galaxy Note 4 and its old rivals iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, and the flagship Sony Xperia Z3 and LG G3 of the same generation can't be absent. In addition, for the convenience of comparison, Samsung's old flagship Galaxy S5 and Note3 also participated in the competition.

It is worth noting that, according to the previous review by Professor Fei Wei (Note 4, version 5433 of Hong Kong Branch) and other users (version 805 of China Branch Xiaolong), the aperture of Note 4 should be F2.2. An error in the parameter list may be caused by an error in the temporary work of the foreign media.

  • Samsung S5 in this evaluation uses Samsung's own ISOCELL sensor (Snapdragon 801). Note 4 uses Sony IMX240 sensor (Snapdragon 805 version). white balance

Unlike Samsung's previous cool color tuning, the color performance of the Note 4 demo is closer to reality. Even the "sky blue", which is difficult for mobile phones to express, performs well.

The performance of the two iPhones is as expected. The color of the two iPhones is more gorgeous and flattering than that of Note4, but they are just right. In addition, the samples of the two iPhones have a slight warming tendency, which is more obvious in some samples, but very slight.

The samples of S5 and Note3 are ancestral cold of Samsung, and the color saturation will be slightly higher than that seen by the naked eye, making the samples look more pleasing.

LG G3 is more obviously cold, and has a tendency of overexposure, and the picture is white as a whole.

The color performance of Sony Z3 is special. The color is neutral and the saturation is not enough, but it is still cold.

 

 

Discriminative power

Because of the high pixel mark, Note shows excellent detail discrimination. The remote license plates and leaves can be easily distinguished. There is slight noise at the edge of the proof, but it is not serious.

S5 is second only to Note4 in terms of photo discrimination. The details and noise performance are similar to Note4, but the details are not as rich as Note4.

Considering that Note3 is the flagship of last year, its performance is quite good, but it still loses to S5 and Note4 in details

LG G3 has few noise points, but the smear marks in the sample are heavy, which will be more obvious when zooming in.

The performance of the two iPhones is very close, which is undoubtedly the strongest 8 megapixel camera. However, in the light environment in the daytime, it is difficult to defeat the 16 megapixel opponent in detail discrimination.

The performance of Sony Z3 is also good, but it still does not meet our expectations. After all, it is the highest pixel. In addition, it is worth mentioning that its edge deformation is relatively serious (because the wide-angle is the largest?). Strangely, its performance in grass, leaves and branches is far better than that in other ones.

(Note to the author: Maybe the other media is Sony Black, so Sony's score is abnormally low. In terms of the demo performance, its daytime detail performance should be better than that of iPhone, G3 and note3.)


Indoor performance

Flash effect

Compared with the outdoor performance, the indoor performance of Note 4 is not very satisfactory. If the indoor light is sufficient, it can maintain a good white balance and discrimination, and noise control is also good; But if the room is too dark, it will be weak.

In addition, after the LED flash is turned on, the sample will have a high probability of being cold. However, the flash is bright enough to illuminate the whole scene as long as it does not stand too far away.

In general, the performance of the iPhone 6 in the indoor dark scene is similar to that of Note 4: relying on a larger single pixel area, the iPhone sample will be brighter and more flexible when the ambient light is brighter. Note 4 fails to reach the same brightness even if it pushes up the sensitivity (more noise).

However, depending on the higher resolution, Note4's analytical power will be slightly better. In weak light, the performance of both is half a dozen, but they are already at a very high level in mobile phones. In addition, the dual color temperature flash of iPhone 6 can make the proof more realistic and natural in low light.

With the addition of optical anti shake iPhone6 Plus, the indoor weak light performance is significantly better than that of iPhone6 and Note4. When the light is sufficient, there is no difference between them, but in low light, its dark details and noise control will be better.

When the light is sufficient, the details and white balance of S5 are good, but the white balance and details in low light are sad, and its monochrome warm flash will also cause the sample to be cold.

The performance of Note 3 and S5 can almost be described as "the same as above". When the light is not enough, color deviation is serious, but the details are not as good as S5.

The LG G3 can't guarantee the accuracy of white balance in dark light, and the details are heavily smeared. However, its dual color temperature flash lamp is still better than the Samsung series.

The performance of Sony Z3 is OK when the light is sufficient, but the flash is too weak, and the sample is obviously cold after the flash is turned on.

Night view performance

Everyone has high expectations for Note4 with optical anti shake, but it seems that Samsung still needs some time to digest the anti shake technology. Note 4 The proof sheet has an obvious tendency of overexposure, and the picture is uniformly bright. Although the dark details can be retained, more details of the bright parts will be lost (pay attention to avoid the light source to avoid damaging the film). The noise level is still normal. The night performance of the mobile phone is clear to everyone

The performance of iPhone 6 is more natural than that of Note4, with good detail performance and noise control.

With the help of optical anti shake, the iPhone 6 Plus can press the ISO lower and have longer exposure time. The detail performance and noise control are undoubtedly the best.

The LG G3 is similar to Note4 in shape, and the brightness of the picture is pushed very high. It has excellent anti shake ability and the best night discrimination, but the details are still heavily smeared.

Sony Z3 did not perform well, but the white balance was quite accurate.

However, the noise and details of Note3 and S5 are not satisfactory, and they are basically of the type of light death when magnified.

Note4 is the mobile phone with the strongest sensor among the existing machines equipped with optical anti shake. Samsung's optimization is also good, and the test results basically confirm the initial parameter table. The only pity is that even though the ability of mobile phones to take pictures has improved collectively this year, their night performance is still not ideal.

The iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 6 ranked second and third in the total score. They have the most easy-to-use software and confidence to shoot when picking up. However, 8 million pixels in ten thousand years still make it lack of detail.
