Design and quality
Xperia Z still continues the design style of Sony. The corners transition is more direct, and the back is not so modern and flat compared with the previous model. There is no doubt that this machine is very beautiful. The two layers of glass on the front and back of the machine and the blue rubber material on the side frame match perfectly. There is a similar cover design on the side of the fuselage, which of course ensures the IP57 level protection performance. It also complements the design of the whole machine. The only exception is the lanyard hole on the right side of the bottom of the fuselage, but it doesn't look abrupt due to its concealment.
Because the front and back of the fuselage are made of glass, on the one hand it does increase the beauty, but it also becomes a fingerprint and stain collector. Especially for friends whose palms are easy to sweat, the oil stain problem does exist. Fortunately, it is not difficult to clean up. If you really care about this, you can buy the white version, which is less obvious than the black version.
The whole machine is very solid and reliable. It feels very solid when held in the hand. Next, the key point of our evaluation is this 5-inch 1080P screen. There is no doubt that this 441PPI pixel density screen is a big selling point of this phone. We have mentioned it several times before, but this time we will take a closer look at this screen. The display is much clearer than those 720P resolution screens in 2012, which can be seen directly with the naked eye. However, compared with the original leap of mobile phone screen resolution from WVGA (800 * 480) to 720P, this leap is not as obvious in terms of visual perception, although the data is greatly changed and improved.
Xperia Z uses Sony's second-generation Mobile Bravia Engine technology, which can improve video playback capability and image display effect. Thanks to this technology and high resolution, it can be said that the Xperia Z screen is the best masterpiece of the Japanese panel manufacturer so far! The light emission rate of the screen is also very low (convenient for viewing in sunlight). Here is our contrast result in sunlight.
However, on the other hand, we have to say that this screen is not perfect. First of all, the viewing angle is not particularly good. However, compared with Xperia T, it has made some progress. In other words, in the panel field, Sony still needs to work hard to catch up with those leading strong competitors.
What is more puzzling is that the contrast of this screen does not match the title of its flagship. After our test, we found that compared with the flagship phones of the main competitors, the contrast is much worse than that of Sony's previous generation products. Introduction to System UI
Xperia Z is Sony's first smartphone running Android 4.1. Sony promises to upgrade the device to Android 4.2 as soon as possible. Thanks to Google's Project Butter in Android 4.1, the machine runs smoothly.

Performance run test
Sony's Xperia Z also uses Qualcomm Snapdragon APQ8064 processor, which has four Krait architecture CPU cores, 1.5GHz clock frequency, 2GB RAM, and Adreno 320 graphics processor. The Krait kernel has a very high performance, basically close to the ARM Cortex-A15 architecture. The dual core Krait architecture can be comparable to the ordinary quad core Cortex-A9, and the quad core architecture is certainly better. Xperia Z is of course no exception. We turn off the screen in GLBechmak to test the pure GPU performance. Xperia Z also did not disappoint us. Its score was as high as OPPO Find 5 and the fourth prince of Google, and slightly higher than the first two. It won the first place again!
However, considering that most of the games will be presented on the screen, we have carried out the score running test of Epic Citadel (Epic Castle). Epic Citadel uses Unreal Engine 3, which is very popular among game manufacturers, so Epic Citadel's test should be more reliable. The running score software is set at the highest image quality, but Xperia Z is again at the top. Here are the results of the run.
After these tests, we even suspected that Xperia Z's score was unbeatable at present. However, when moving to browser testing, because the UI of Xperia Z does not have Sony's own browser, it uses Chrome, and the poor score is only 1906ms (the lower the score, the better). In addition, the Nexus 4, which also has a built-in Chrome browser, is only 1971 ms, and also ranked lower. Therefore, we preliminarily judged that the current Android version of Chrome browser cannot be compared with the desktop Chrome. Chrome browser did not perform well in the Sunspider score. The following are the scores of SunSpider, BrowserMark 2 and Vellamo. In general, Sony is better than other manufacturers in mining APQ8064 performance.

The video player of Xperia Z is comprehensive in function, and the interface design is very careful and beautiful.
