New record, MediaTek Tianji 9200+released: CPU/GPU increased by 10% and 17% respectively

On May 10, MediaTek officially released its flagship chip Tianji 9200+in the second half of the year, with a CPU frequency increase of more than 10%, but claimed that the game power consumption was still lower than that of competing products, and that it was the strongest mobile game platform, which would be first launched by the iQOO Neo8 series (Fage was very confident, depending on the performance of the real machine).

The architecture of Tianji 9200+has not changed significantly, mainly to improve frequency and energy efficiency control:

  • TSMC second generation 4nm process, 17 billion transistors (Apple A16 is 16 billion, A15 is 15 billion, A14 is 11.8 billion)

  • 1* [email protected] 1MB L2 cache

  • 3* A715@3GHz , 512KB L2 for each, 1.5MB in total

  • 4*A510 refreshed@2GHz , divided into two groups, each sharing 512KB L2 cache, a total of 1MB

  • 8MB L3 cache, 6MB system cache

The GPU is still Immortalis-G715 MC11, with a frequency increase of 17% (Tianji 9200 is 981MHz, which means that the GPU frequency of Tianji 9200+has gone to 981x1.17=1147.77MHz. The G715 MC11 with a frequency of 1.148GHz is really fantastic)

The CPU frequency increased from 3.05+2.85+1.8 of Tianji 9200 to 3.35+3+2 (the frequency of large core increased by 10%, and the frequency of small core increased by 11%). As a comparison:

  • The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy is 3.36+2.8+2, and the ordinary Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is 3.2+2.8+2.

  • Tianji 9000 is 3.05+2.85+1.8, and Tianji 9000+is 3.2+2.85+1.8

MediaTek claims that the single core performance of Tianji 9200+has increased by 10%, the multi-core performance has increased by 5%, the GPU has increased by about 10%, and the running score of Antu Rabbit has been brushed to 1.368 million points.

Although the frequency has increased a lot, MediaTek claims that the power consumption of the game is 10% to 21% lower than that of the competing products (it should be Snapdragon 8 Gen 2?), the power consumption of the light chase game (NetEase's "Tianyu") is 10% lower, and the social information reception and Wi Fi hotspot are more than 35%.

In addition, MediaTek claims that the average frame rate of Tianji 9200+RPG in the head open world is 10% higher than that of the competitor (the competitor's model seems not to perform well).

At the end of the press conference, the official of MediaTek announced that the first launch of Tianji 9200+would be the iQOO Neo8 series.

Tianji 9200+'s CPU frequency (3.35+3+2) and GPU frequency (1.148GHz) both set new records for Android flagship chips. The GPU frequency should be the first time that the Android flagship has entered 1.1GHz. The previous record of Qualcomm was the 900MHz Adreno730 of Snapdragon 8+, and the record of Kirin was 1037MHz of Kirin 960. However, Apple has always been on the high frequency line. The first generation self-developed GPU of Apple A11 is 1066MHz, and then the frequency slowly climbs up. A15 is 1338MHz, and A16 is 1398MHz.

Note: There are a lot of mid-range products above 900MHz, such as MediaTek P90/P95, which have 970MHz, G99, even 1.1GHz, Tianji 700/810/920/9200, which also have 950MHz. However, the GPU scale, power consumption and flagship of the mid and low-end products are completely incomparable.

However, MediaTek claims that the power consumption of games is still 10% to 21% lower than that of competing products (it should be said that 8G2), which needs to be measured by a wave of iQOO Neo8 Pro.
