8K 120fps video recording! The first domestic full width 49 million pixel CMOS passed the acceptance

On November 23, it was reported on the official website of Changguang Chenxin (Changchun Changguang Chenxin Optoelectronics) that the first domestic 8K CMOS image sensor with a full width of 49 million pixels had passed the acceptance, and its unit pixel was 4.3 μ m, supporting 8K 120fps and 4K 240fps video recording.

The specific model of the new CMOS is not announced in the press release, but the basic specification is very top, 49 million pixels, unit pixel size 4.3 μ m, readout noise less than 2e -, single frame dynamic range 87dB, which adopts the backlight and stack technology, and supports 8K 120fps and 4K 240fps video recording under 16bit ADC output.

According to the published sample information ↑, its resolution is 9224x4352, and the size of 14bit output sample reaches 410MB.

The background of the birth of the first domestic full width 49 million pixel CMOS should start from the "major project of nuclear high base". The latter is one of the 16 major national science and technology projects identified in the Outline of the National Medium and Long term Science and Technology Development Plan (2006-2020), which aims to catch up with the rapid development of international technology and industry in the field of core electronic devices, high-end general-purpose chips and basic software.

The project of "8K Ultra High Definition Image Sensor Chip and System Application", a major special project of nuclear high base led by Changguang Chenxin, is jointly undertaken by four companies and approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in 2019. It combines Zhejiang Huarui Technology, Dajiang Innovation and Dajiang Baiwang Technology. The goal of the project is to develop an 8K ultra-high definition CMOS image sensor chip and camera system with independent intellectual property rights, breaking the situation that the ultra-high definition imaging chip and system have long relied on foreign imports and severely limited development.

The leading company, Changchun Changguang Chenxin Optoelectronics Co., Ltd. (Gpixel), is a CMOS image sensor design company established in 2012 by Changchun Institute of Optics, Precision Mechanics and Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (Changchun Institute of Optics, one of the four major optical institutes of the Chinese Academy of Sciences), with its headquarters in Changchun, Jilin.

The four companies finally completed the development of two 8K CMOS image sensors, and based on two CMOS, completed the development and acceptance of nationally produced, autonomous and controllable 8K camcorders. However, in addition to the 49 million pixel CMOS of Changguang Chenxin, the other CMOS and the 8K camcorder based on them have not been officially announced (may be a new product of Dajiang?)
