On May 13, it was reported that MediaTek released a new mid-range 5G SoC Tianji 900 this afternoon.
In terms of basic specifications, Tianji 900 and Tianji 1100/1200 adopt TSMC's 6nm process technology. The CPU part integrates two 2.4GHz A78 cores and six 2.0GHz A55 cores. The GPU is Mali-G68 MC4 (G68 refers to the G78 with one to six cores), and the third generation APU of MediaTek is also integrated.
The camera supports up to 108 million pixel sensors and has a hardware level 4K HDR video recording engine.
In terms of communication, the 5G baseband integrated by Tianji 900 supports 5G dual carrier aggregation, 5G+5G dual card dual standby, dual VoNR and other features, while 4G supports Cat.18.
In terms of other peripheral specifications, Tianji 900 supports UFS 3.1 flash memory and LPDDR5 memory (Tianji 1200 can feel the sting), FHD+screen with the highest 120Hz refresh rate, WiFi 6 (2 × 2 MIMO) and Bluetooth 5.2.
MediaTek official said that the terminal equipment equipped with Tianji 900 will be launched in the second quarter, while the first model is rumored to be OPPO Reno6 standard version.
From the published paper parameters, the theoretical CPU performance of Tianji 900 should be better than that of Snapdragon 768G, but it should not be able to beat the Snapdragon 780G with four A78 cores. Last year, the 700/800 series chips of Tianji were widely favored by manufacturers. This year, many models in the mid end 5G mobile phone market will choose Tianji 900.
