On May 20, it was reported that Qualcomm officially released the new 5G SoC Snapdragon 778G last night.

Unlike the Samsung 5nm process of the Snapdragon 780G, the Snapdragon 778G uses the TSMC 6nm process. The CPU part integrates eight Kryo 670 cores, including four 2.4GHz A78 based large cores and four 1.8GHz A55 based small cores. The GPU is Adreno 642L.

The Snapdragon 778G is equipped with a Spectra 570L ISP, which supports a three ISP architecture. It supports the simultaneous use of three cameras to shoot or record videos. It supports shooting photos of up to 192 million pixels and 4K HDR10+videos; Its sixth generation Qualcomm AI engine integrates the Hexagon 770 DSP, and its AI computing power reaches 12TOPS.

In terms of communication, Snapdragon 778G integrates X53 5G baseband, supports Sub-6GHz and millimeter wave frequency bands, and has a peak downlink rate of 3.7Gbps; The WiFi and Bluetooth module adopts the FastConnect 6700, which supports WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2.

In terms of support for peripheral specifications, the Snapdragon 778G supports UFS 3.1 flash memory and LPDDR5 memory (up to 16GB 3200MHz), and the screen supports up to 144Hz FHD+resolution.

Qualcomm official said that the terminal products equipped with Snapdragon 778G will be launched soon, and the first cooperative brands include Glory iQOO、 Motorola, OPPO, realme and Xiaomi are rumored to be equipped with Snapdragon 778G for the first time in the Glory 50 series.
