Stepping on the toothpaste tube, Tianji 8300 released: CPU increased by 20%, GPU surpassed Snapdragon 8+

On November 21, MediaTek officially released its second flagship Tianji 8300, which replaced the A715 architecture CPU and Mali-G615MC6 GPU, claiming that the GPU performance exceeded Qualcomm's previous flagship Snapdragon 8+.

The CPU of Tianji 8300 is one 3.35GHz A715 super core+three 3.2GHz A715 super cores+four 2.2GHz A510 mini cores. The GPU is Mali-G615MC6 1.4GHz and supports LPDDR5x 8533Mbps memory+UFS 4.0 flash memory.

  • Support 120Hz 2K screen or 180Hz 1080P+screen, with 4K AV1 video hard solution

  • Imagiq 980 ISP supporting 14 bit HDR

  • 5G baseband supports 3-carrier aggregation, with downlink peak value of 5.17Gbps

  • Support Wi Fi 6E (160Mhz)

The AI processor/NPU is the APU 780 (Tianji 9300 is the APU 790). Its performance is improved by 2.3 times, and its integer and floating-point performance is doubled. It also has the end-to-end generative AI capability, which supports up to 10 billion parameters of the AI large speech model, and also has the Transformer operator acceleration and mixed precision INT4 quantization functions similar to Tianji 9300.

PS: Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 On November 17, it was released that the CPU is a 2.63GHz A715+3 2.4GHz A715+4 1.8GHz A510, Adreno 720 GPU。

The CPU of Tianji 8300 claims a 20% increase in peak performance and a 30% reduction in peak power consumption. GPU performance is improved by 60% and power consumption is reduced by 55%. The memory speed is increased by 33%, and the flash memory read/write speed is increased by 100%.

Redmi K70E officially announced the launch of Tianji 8300 Ultra, which was released this month. The K70E is also the first MediaTek chip model equipped with Xiaomi Pengpai OS.

K70E claimed that Antu Rabbit scored 1.526 million points, which is a bit higher than the 1.3 million points of 3GHz Snapdragon 8+(after all, it is an entertainment rabbit, and then we will see how GeekBench's performance is).

The imaginary enemies of Tianji 8300 should be Snapdragon 7+Gen 2 and Snapdragon 8+, and their positioning is obviously higher than that of Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, so there is a sense of vision when stepping on the toothpaste tube by mistake.

It's a pity that the CPU didn't get on the A720, but the frequency is really crazy. The multi-core performance of four 3.2GHz A715 can really compete with Snapdragon 8+, or even stronger (Snapdragon 8+is 3.2GHz X2+3x2.75GHz A710+2.0GHz A510), but I don't know how the daily frequency and energy efficiency are.

However, this generation of GPUs has seen a sharp increase in scale and frequency. The peak performance is 10% better than that of Snapdragon 8+, and Snapdragon 7+Gen 2 will not close its eyes.

  • Previously, Qualcomm transformed Snapdragon 8+"frequency reduction" into Snapdragon 7+Gen 2, instantly upgrading the performance of the mid end SoC to the sub flagship level. Fage took over the job the next year (thanks to Qualcomm, let's use the stronger Fage)

  • However, it is estimated that Fage did not expect that Qualcomm would shrink back. We hope Qualcomm will make greater efforts to reduce the frequency of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and create a Snapdragon 7+Gen 3 (thanks to Fage, let's use a stronger Snapdragon)
