On February 26, the E Ink public account announced that the e-paper industry alliance jointly launched by Yuantai, BOE and Xingtai Technology was officially established. The official website, articles of association, and annual work plan of the Alliance have all been released and accepted applications for membership.

E-paper is a bistable display technology that does not emit light, relies on natural light reflection imaging, and can maintain the image when power is off. Its display effect is close to that of natural paper, and it is one of the most eye friendly display technologies. In front of the electronic paper, the "never slave" LCD is embarrassed to say that it protects its eyes.

Now, including Kindle, Sony, Wenshi, Mohan, Handreading, Hanwang, Hisense, etc., almost all the ink screens/e-books/E Ink readers/mobile phones use electrophoretic e-paper displays (which account for more than half of the product cost) provided by E Ink Yuantai Technology.

The Alliance claims that after more than six months of preparation, it has visited nearly 60 enterprises:

• Its purpose includes "building an ecological platform for the e-paper industry chain, promoting the innovative application of e-paper in various industries, leading paperless innovative application industries, and participating in the formulation of national and global standards".

• The articles of association of the e-paper industry alliance mentioned that it is "a cross industry, professional, open and non-profit social organization voluntarily formed by enterprises, institutions, associations, colleges, research institutes, independent natural persons, etc. related to the e-paper industry".

• It is expected to launch the function of "industry information, industry database and supply and demand information" from March to May, hold the founding conference of the alliance in May, and hold the developer conference from October to November.

BOE is a familiar screen supplier. A large number of LCD and OLED screens on laptops and mobile phones are all products of BOE. As the joint initiator of the alliance, I wonder if BOE will join the production of ink screen in the later period (may it reduce the price of ink screen?).
