On July 23, it was reported that MediaTek released the new Tianji 720 5G SoC this morning, and now it has opened a new Tianji 700 series product line outside the Tianji 1000 and Tianji 800 series.
Tianji 720 is made by TSMC's 7nm process. In terms of core specifications, its CPU part integrates two 2.0GHz A76 cores and six 2.0GHz A55 cores. The GPU uses Mali-G57 MC3; Support LPDDR4x memory (up to 12GB 2133MHz) and UFS 2.2 flash memory.
The display supports HDR10+, with a maximum resolution of 2520 × 1080 and a 90Hz refresh rate; ISP supports up to 64 million pixel sensors; The integrated voice wake-up (VoW) function can minimize the standby power consumption of the voice assistant.
Tianji 720 is integrated with 5G baseband, supports 5G network in sub 6GHz band, SA/NSA dual mode, peak downlink rate of 2.3Gbps, and supports 5G dual carrier convergence; WiFi only supports WiFi 5 standard.
According to the official statement of MediaTek, the Tianji 700 series is aimed at "popular 5G mid-range mobile devices". Considering that the current domestic models equipped with Tianji 800 have sunk to around 1500 yuan, the newly released Tianji 720 should appear on the entry-level 5G models with about 1000 yuan in the future.
(Glory 30 Youth Edition, which starts at 1699 yuan, is the lowest selling model of Tianji 800.)
It was previously reported that thanks to the popularity of Tianji series chips among domestic manufacturers, MediaTek has added chip orders to TSMC in three waves.
