This new curly screen mobile phone is expected to be like a scroll. The processor, camera, battery and other components are all in a "storage box" body, and the screen will be pulled out of the "storage box" when needed. However, it is estimated that the original machine will not be as sci-fi and handsome as the rendering above.

The advantage of the curly screen must be its portability. It can be made much smaller than the current folding screen. And if you add a small auxiliary screen, you can see the notice and handle simple tasks even if you don't pull out the screen. But the problem of curling the screen is also very big. How can the screen remain rigid after pulling it out without affecting the operation? The curl rate is much higher than that of Samsung Galaxy Fold and Huawei Mate Xs. Will it make the screen soft and easy to scratch? It is estimated that the yield is very low and the price will be higher than that of ordinary folding screens.

In addition, ironically, LG, as a display giant, is said that this flexible screen with such an exaggerated curl rate is not from LG, but from BOE, which is only responsible for supervising production. Previously, LG CEO said that although the beginning of 2021 was the target time for launch, there would be three or four trial production of 1 to 2000 prototypes before, and the actual sales time would depend on the performance of these prototypes.
