The Snapdragon 690 is made by Samsung's 8nm LPP process. In terms of core specifications, it integrates two 2.0GHz Kryo 560 cores (based on ARM A77) and six 1.7GHz Kryo 560 cores (based on A55). The GPU is Adreno 619L. Officially, compared with Snapdragon 675, its CPU and GPU performance are improved by 20% and 60% respectively.
Snapdragon 690 integrates a new X51 modem, supports the sub 6GHz 5G frequency band, supports SA and NSA dual modes, the maximum downlink rate is 2.5Gbps, and the maximum uplink rate is 1.2Gbps. Compared with high-end products, it mainly cuts off the support for millimeter wave frequency band; In terms of WiFi, it is commonly known as Snapdragon 690, which supports "WiFi 6-ready" and has some key features of WiFi 6 (but not real WiFi 6).
In addition, Snapdragon 690 supports LPDDR4X memory and UFS 2.1 flash memory, supports the screen with the highest FHD+resolution/120Hz refresh rate, and ISP supports 4K 30fps video recording and up to 192 million pixel still photo shooting.
Terminal devices equipped with Snapdragon 690 will be launched in the second half of this year. Qualcomm officially calls HMD Global LG、 Motorola, Sharp, TCL and other manufacturers plan to launch mobile phones equipped with Snapdragon 690 platform.
