AMD shows the world's first 7nm GPU with 32GB video memory! Optimize AI

Love to play computer games On June 6, it was reported that AMD held a press conference at Computex 2018 this morning. After launching the second generation of "thread ripper" desktop processors with the highest 32 cores, it also displayed the world's first GPU with a 7nm process.

It is reported that this GPU is a Radeon Vega prototype chip, which belongs to AMD's Instinct product line. This chip will be mainly used in the field of device independent learning after mass production in the future. AMD CEO Su Zifeng said that the new technology of this prototype chip will also be used by consumer level Radeon independent graphics cards.

"Su Ma" showed this GPU in person on the spot. It can be seen that its size is very large. According to The Verge, this is because the GPU has four second-generation high bandwidth video memories (4 × HBM2) built in, with a total capacity of 32GB.

AMD's 7nm GPU is specially optimized for AI and deep learning and should be used on workstations and servers. In the live demonstration, the Vega Instinct 7nm chip performs strongly in 4D movie rendering scenes, which of course means that its price should not be cheap.
