Vivo welcomed its first "Media Open Day" at Hangzhou New Technology Research Institute on March 5, and demonstrated the Vivo APEX full screen concept mobile phone and super HDR technology that just appeared overseas.
What we experienced this time was this vivo APEX concept machine, which was equipped with Snapdragon 845 SoC, 6GB running memory, up to 91% screen share, half screen fingerprint, HiFi, and so on, showing great sincerity.
Some details have also been improved. For example, the USB Type-C interface is finally adopted, which is more in line with the current trend. It is so easy to plug in and charge on both sides at night. The fingerprint under the screen is also easier to use than the previous version. The screen specification of vivo APEX now seems very "conventional". The 5.99-inch OLED screen has a resolution of 2160 * 1080. What is unusual is that the screen proportion is extremely exaggerated up to 91%. The top earpiece area has been abandoned by technical means. The key point is - no bangs! No bangs!
The thickness of the left, top and right borders is only 1.8mm. This is a form that really implements narrow borders.
The width of the bottom edge (chin) is 4.3mm. Due to the USB interface, microphone, speaker, 3.5mm interface and many other parts at the bottom, the thickness of this part is inevitably increased.
On the top of the fuselage, it can be seen that the whole machine adopts a metal middle frame with a strong style, and there are obvious holes on the top. This is the biggest feature of the whole machine. The retractable front camera is equipped with an electric motor inside, and the infrared sensor can also be seen.
There is a big highlight at the bottom of the fuselage. APEX uses Type-C interface, which is the first mobile phone in vivo history to use this interface (although it has not been mass produced yet). As a mobile phone focusing on HiFi, APEX is still equipped with a 3.5mm headphone interface.

In terms of the size of the fuselage, the APEX is relatively easy to hold. After all, the frame is very narrow, but because the edge cutting is a bit too hard, it will feel a little kowtow.
The vivo APEX concept mobile phone adopts Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, 6G memory, FuntouchOS 3.2 system, and is based on Android 8.0. In addition to the features shown in the article, it also has full screen sound technology, half screen fingerprint, hidden sensor, SIP packaged HiFi module (1 independent DAC+3 operational amplifier chips) and other technologies.
Vivo official said that these new technologies on APEX will be mass produced on new products in the middle of this year, and it may take some time for us to gather a variety of black technology products like this concept machine.

The third special point is that vivo APEX launched half screen fingerprint for the first time. When entering, there will be an entry area much larger than the fingerprint button in the middle and lower part of the screen, and the system will also have a prompt of "the effect will be better if you press hard". The testing machine only needs to press 4 times to complete the entry.
The fingerprint verification area of half screen fingerprint is really very large, but the fingerprint reaction speed of the first version of the tester is still a little slow, but the overall experience is OK. In addition to large recognition area, half screen fingerprint supports double fingerprinting. When entering this mode, you also need to use both fingers together. The experience is still very fresh.
