Connect Qualcomm 6 Series? Samsung Releases Exynos 7885 SoC

Recently, Samsung officially released the Exynos 7-Series SoC-7885.

Exynos 7885 is a combination of an eight core SoC, two 2.2GHz ARM Cortex-A73+six 1.6GHz ARM Cortex-A53, which uses the 14nm LPP process. Compared with the predecessor Exynos 7880, the single core performance is increased by 85%, while the GPU is Mali-G71 MP2.

In terms of storage, Exynos 7885 supports eMMC 5.1 and memory supports LPDDR4x. The base band of Exynos 7885 is Cat.12, and the maximum downlink and uplink are 600Mbps and 150Mbps respectively. The screen can support 1920 x 1200 and 2220 x 1080 mobile phones, which seems to be born for full screen or wide screen mobile phones.

Exynos 7885 supports up to four image sensors - dual camera and iris sensor. Does this mean that future low-end machines will also support iris unlocking? In addition, it also supports 4K/30fps video capture.

From the previous news, the first mobile phone equipped with Exynos 7885 should be the Galaxy J8, and it has also been exposed that its Geekbench has scored 1210 points for a single core and 4115 points for multiple cores. From the performance, it is comparable to Snapdragon 625/630 SoC.
