Talon Pasako, an analyst at Counterpoint Research, said that Xiaomi's aggressive pricing model and rapid market expansion strategy helped it win the first place in the world's second largest smartphone market in the fourth quarter of 2017. However, Samsung is still the sales champion in the Indian market in the whole year. In the first half of 2017, Samsung's sales led Xiaomi by a large margin. Therefore, although its sales performance in the second half of 2017 was poor, it still led Xiaomi. However, for Xiaomi, it still has a long way to go in the Indian smartphone market.
