Samsung has begun mass production of 512GB eUFS flash memory chips

In recent years, the flash memory capacity of mobile devices has been expanding, especially smart phones. The storage capacity of smart phones has grown from 8GB at the beginning to 256GB today. I don't know when our mobile phone capacity will grow passively. Today, most flagship smart phones start with 64GB, and 256GB versions are common.

On December 5, 2017, Samsung officially announced that Samsung Electronics has officially started mass production of 512GB eUFS flash memory chips, which are composed of 64 layer 512 (Gb) V-NAND chips, and will provide the best storage solution for smart phones, smart tablets, tablets and other devices. Samsung said that the 512GB eUFS flash memory is composed of three 64 layer 512Gb V-NAND chips and a controller chip stack. Its speed is more than twice that of the previous 48 layer V-NAND 256GB eUFS. Its sequential read speed is 860MB/S, sequential write speed is 255MB/S, random 4K read speed is 42000 IOPS, and random 4K write speed is 40000 IOPS.

Although there are many high-capacity versions of smart phones on the market at present, for most users, the capacity of mobile phones does not need to be so large, and now 512GB eUFS flash memory is also coming into mass production. Do you think you can use up such a large storage capacity?
