On March 27, Sonos from the United States officially released the new product of home theater, PLAYBASE, at the media conference held by Beijing Humanities and Arts Center. This stereo is designed for non wall mounted TV, which can be directly used under the TV. PLAYBASE is completely developed and designed by Sonos independently. It uses unique production technology and materials to meet the requirements of Sonos for high-quality music experience. PLAYBASE adopts a customized glass reinforced carbon resin shell with injection molding process, which can effectively reduce vibration and perfectly support the weight of the whole TV set, unchanged over the years. The fuselage adopts integrated zero seam design, and the fuselage seems to be cut from a whole piece of granite: neat lines, extremely smooth fuselage surface. In order to ensure sound transparency, 43000 holes with five sizes were molded on the grid surface. The closer to the subwoofer and exhaust hole, the larger the hole diameter is, so as to exhaust more air as possible. In order to be perfectly integrated with the indoor environment, PLAYBASE intentionally limits the product thickness to 58 mm (2.3 inches), so as to ensure that it will not be so attractive in the user's living room. PLAYBASE has created more than 36 patents, including the customized 5.25-inch subwoofer with 4 patents, as well as the complex mosaic injection molding process, new resin materials and further developed coating process.

PLAYBASE is both a home theater and an online music sound system. Although the product is only 58mm, it integrates 10 Class D digital amplifiers, and is equipped with Sonos' most advanced speaker matrix so far: 6 mid-range speakers, 3 tweeters, including 2 lateral tweeters, and 1 customized bass speaker. Even after the TV is turned off, PLAYBASE can play music through Sonos, Sonos provides 15 online music services in China.

Through Sonos software, PLAYBASE can provide flexible control methods - both TV remote control and Sonos App can be used for remote control.
