It can charge a device with a battery capacity of 2750mAh to 50% of the power in 15 minutes. QC4.0 is downward compatible with previous QC fast charging, and supports USB Type-C USB PD。

The improvement of QC4.0 is mainly in the following aspects:

1. Support USB Type-C USB PD， It has stronger compatibility.

2. More advanced technology has been added to the power saver to extend the service life of the battery and improve the safety of charging.

3. The INOV algorithm maximizes the charging efficiency, optimizes the charging process, and reduces heating.

QC4.0 uses the latest power management chips SMB1380 and SMB1381, which have lower impedance and higher peak efficiency of 96%. SMB1380 and SMB1381 will be launched before the end of 2016. QC4.0 technology is expected to be put into use in the first half of 2017. Snapdragon 835 is the SoC supporting QC4.0 technology.
