Samsung released the new smart watches Gear S3 classic and Gear S3 frontier in the early morning of September 1. From the perspective of specifications, they are greatly enhanced compared with the Gear S2 series.
The Gear S3 classic combines a retro design with a silver frame and leather strap. The Gear S3 series has a 1.3-inch 360 * 360 screen and uses the new Corning Gorilla SR+glass.
The Gear S3 is equipped with two physical keys, which are operated in coordination with the screen touch control and the rotation of the dial. The operation mode is similar to that of the previous generation.
Samsung also provides a variety of watchbands for users to replace, including some valuable leather watchbands.
The Gear S3 frontier has a sporty style. With the use of a plastic strap, the appearance design looks more masculine. The configuration is similar to that of the classic version, with dual core 1.0GHz processor, 768MB memory, 4G storage space, and 380mAh battery.
Compared with the Gear S2, the Gear S3 adds GPS Glonass, Bluetooth has also been upgraded to version 4.2. The most exciting thing is that it supports MST mode payment. I believe it will have better support for Samsung Pay. In addition, Gear S3 cooperates with BMW to use the above BMW Connected application (similar to BMW Remote on mobile phones) to remotely unlock BMW cars, obtain vehicle information and other functions.
Gear S3 supports the demonstration of Samsung Pay payment.
Compared with the parameters of Gear S2 and Gear S3, the Gear S3 frontier has a version that supports 3G and LTE networks, that is, it can plug in a SIM card. The Gear S3 will be launched in the fourth quarter of 2016, and the price has not been announced yet.
