Trial Report of Weile Weloop now2 Smart Bracelet

First of all, I would like to thank Lei Feng for giving me this valuable opportunity to try out, and more importantly, I would like to thank Weile for providing the latest now 2 smart bracelet products, which let me try out the now 2 bracelet at the first time before the crowdfunding is over.

I am half a senior research and experience player of intelligent wearable devices. Why half senior? Since the popularity of intelligent wearable devices, I have been constantly buying, trying and experiencing various wearable devices. To calculate in detail, I have used seven smart devices. At first, we bought inwatch π through Meizu Mall (sold half a year ago). Later, we bought the first batch of Ville's now classic after it was listed. We tried the bong xx bracelet (lost half a year ago), and then bought the standard version of fruit shell geak2 (sold out after three months). Shortly after the launch of Xiaohei 2, I bought Xiaohei 1, and recently bought ticwatch. This time I like the now 2 smart bracelet again. What I have in my hand now are Weile now c, Weile Xiaohei 1, ticwatch， And the latest Vela Now 2 bracelet, three of the four products belong to Vela, which shows that Vela plays an important role in the field of intelligent devices.

Since 14 years ago, intelligent wearable devices have become increasingly popular, and there are more than 100 kinds of intelligent devices on the market. Besides Google's own glasses, the most intelligent wearable devices are bracelets and watches. I summarized that intelligent wearable devices can be divided into the following three categories:

1. The first type of bracelet is represented by the inwatch π and millet bracelets, the bong series and the bong xx series. This type of bracelet mainly focuses on the health step counting function, and some add heart rate sensors. However, such bracelets either have no screen, or have a screen that can only display time, steps, call icon, SMS icon, etc., without the message notification function.

2. Weloop's now series and Xiaohei series, Maibu watches and Ivy I5 plus watches and bracelets all belong to this category. The main feature of this category is that it not only has the function of counting steps and health, but also has a screen. In addition to time and health information, it can also display phone calls, short messages and notification messages. This kind of bracelet watch can directly watch various message alerts on the mobile phone through the bracelet without taking out the mobile phone. Some bracelets can also hang up the phone, find the mobile phone, control the camera and music. Now 2 belongs to this kind of bracelet.

3. The third category is based on the concept of mote 360 ticwatch、apple watch、 Samsung gear s2 and other smart watches with Android wear or watch os operating systems can not only display mobile phone messages, but also install software, operate software on watches, control other devices, play games when bored, and control watches and even mobile phones through voice interaction.

The first type of bracelet has a single function. It has no other function except for a shock reminder and icon reminder. However, it is too cheap and has a certain market in terms of weekly and monthly standby time. Although the third type of smart watch has rich functions, it is a niche product because the standby time of the intelligent system does not exceed two days at most and it is expensive. Then, the second type of bracelet watch is the mainstream product on the market today, with a wide range of users and developers. Because it has the advantages of long standby of the first type of bracelet, and the third type of smart watch can read phone messages, reverse control the phone, install simple software and other functions.

Today, the protagonist of my evaluation is the Veloop now 2 smart bracelet.

Chapter I Appearance

After getting the bracelet package of Weile now 2, I was really shocked. I didn't expect that the package of Weile now 2 is so small and simple, and the size of the package box is about the same as that of Xiaohei Generation 1. Compared with the packaging of now classic, the square pull-out box of now c is much taller.

After opening the package, there are now 2 bracelets, charging clips and a short charging cable inside. The charging method is similar to that of now c. The charging point at the bottom of the bracelet is clamped with a snap.

The snap has its own reset jack, which is convenient for us to forcibly restart the bracelet. It should be noted that there is a sticker on the bracelet to protect the screen, which needs to be removed. In addition, many students asked if they could use the charging clip of now c to charge now 2, but the answer was no. The two charging clips are different in size, and because of the protrusion of the heart rate module, they cannot be used for each other.

Comparing the appearance of now c and now 2, it can be seen that the main body of the two bracelets is basically the same appearance, the front is flat protective glass, and the difference lies in the back. The back of Now C is flat, and the back of Now 2 is curved due to the protrusion of the heart rate module. Such design details can make the bracelet better fit the wrist and make heart rate detection more accurate.

The main weight of the Now c is 7.5g, and 18.6g with the wrist strap.

The main body of now2 is 9.3 grams, and the overall weight of the wrist strap is 17.6 grams, which is one gram lighter than that of nowc. Thanks to the latest design of now2, the wrist strap is thinner than the previous one, and the middle is equipped with sweat wicking grooves, which is more comfortable to wear. In particular, the bulge of the wrist strap mouth strap to prevent falling off can effectively prevent the wrist strap from falling to the ground.

After the test, now c's wrist strap can be used by now 2, while now 2's wrist strap cannot be used by now c. Fortunately, my now c has three wristbands that can be used by now 2.

Chapter II Operation

The touch functions of Now 2 and Now c are the same. Long press the screen to light up the screen. After lighting up, you can slide left, slide right, tap, tap left, tap right, and long press.

After long press, the screen will display the time, date and week,

The Bluetooth status is displayed on the upper left side. If the connection is normal, it is a Bluetooth flag. If the connection is disconnected, it is a cross. If Do Not Disturb mode is turned on, there is a crescent sign on the lower left side.

Tap once on the time interface to display the power, Bluetooth ID and firmware version.

Tap again, and the Find Phone function is displayed.

Long press to display "× Find mobile phone √",

On the left, tap "×" to cancel, and on the right, tap "√" to find the phone immediately. The phone will play music and vibration prompts at the current volume.

Touch again on the function interface of mobile phone search, it is the Do Not Disturb On/Off interface.

After long press, "× Open Do Not Disturb √" is displayed.

Similarly, touch the left side to cancel and the right side to open. After turning on Do Not Disturb, you can also press and hold to select later.

In the time interface, slide left horizontally to enter the health step counting page, displaying the current steps.

After tapping, it will be displayed in the interface of large calorie consumption and distance.

Continue to slide left to enter the message interface. At most 50 Chinese characters can be displayed for each message here, and 3 messages can be reserved at the same time. Tap this message to turn the page or switch to the next message, and the three messages will be displayed circularly. When the fourth message comes, the first received message will be overwritten and disappeared. Long press the message to delete it.

Now 2 has more heart rate sensors than now c, so there is one more heart rate interface on the bracelet interface than now c.

Another left slide will display the latest heart rate and the measured time. Tap the interface to immediately measure the heart rate, which can be completed in about 10 seconds

This is all the operation steps of Now 2, which is more intuitive for everyone!

Compared with ticwatch, the two data are basically the same.

The principle of the test is the same as that of the ticwatch and other devices. The green light illuminates the skin surface, and the heart rate is determined by the periodic contraction of capillaries scanned by the sensor. As long as the official firmware detects that the bracelet is not close to the skin, it will stop emitting green light detection to save power, so it is extremely difficult to capture the green light interface.

Chapter 3 Display

The main difference between the Now2 bracelet and other low-end bracelets in appearance is that the front is equipped with an OLED screen with a resolution of 0.91 inch and a resolution of 128 * 32. It can display two lines of 16 full width 16 * 16 Chinese characters, or two lines of 32 half width 8 * 16 English or punctuation marks. The message page can display up to 50 Chinese characters. The outer screen is made of high hardness mineral glass, which is scratch resistant and shatter resistant. In addition, you can wake up the backlight of the bracelet by pressing the screen with your fingers and turning your wrist 90 degrees.

The following is a bright screen demonstration of the wrist turning of four devices. Please turn on the app wrist turning switch before turning the wrist.

Here are the display effects of several devices in various occasions

Under the direct sunlight outside, due to the OLED screen itself, the screens of now c and now 2 can hardly be seen clearly. On the contrary, Xiaohei's LCD often displays the screen clearly.

In the shadow of the outdoor sun, now c and now 2 can barely see the text, but it is difficult. Xiaohei Generation 1 has no pressure

Indoor, the advantages of self luminous OLED screens of now c and now 2 are shown. On the contrary, if Xiaohei 1 does not turn on the backlight, you need to adjust the angle of the watch to see the text clearly.

In the dark at night, the display of nowc and now2 completely abuses Xiaohei 1. If the backlight is not turned on, Xiaohei 1 generation is basically unable to read any messages.

The four devices all support vibration reminders. The ticwatch not only supports vibration, but also has a built-in speaker that can send out sound reminders. In terms of vibration, now 2 is as strong as now c, and it feels stronger than the mobile phone. Don't worry about missing the reminders on your mobile phone and bracelet in a noisy environment.

Because Ticwatch is a semi reflective and semi transparent IPS display screen, when the brightness is adjusted to medium, you can see any text in direct light. Whether indoors or outdoors, in strong light or in darkness, Ticwatch can always read all messages clearly.

Chapter 4 APP Operation

We recently updated the 4.0.4 official version of the weloop app, which supports the now 2 bracelet.

After downloading to and installing Weloop in major software stores, you must first enter the security options set by Android and give Weloop permission to read notification messages, so that Weloop can read notification permissions.

To access the app, you need to register an account first. After you register your account with your mobile phone and log in, there will be a brief help prompt. After completing the learning process, you can enter the main interface.

At the bottom of the navigation bar is the target, ranking, person and device.

The target night is mainly related to our health measurement. There are today's total steps, calories consumed and distance of movement. The arc-shaped progress bar indicates the completion ratio of today's target movement. Below is the timeline to indicate the amount of exercise per hour. If the APP is connected to now 2 with heart rate, the heart rate tag will appear.

The label indicates the average heart rate, maximum heart rate and minimum heart rate. Click the heart rate tag to enter the heart rate history. The heart rate of Now2 is automatically detected every hour.

Below the heart rate are the information tags such as movement recorded by the time axis. When a state lasts for five minutes, a time stamp will be automatically generated. According to the intensity of exercise, the time tag can be divided into removal (gray), sleep (purple), low exercise (blue), walking (green), exercise (orange), and running (red). The different degrees of exercise are separated by color, which is particularly eye-catching. The tag also records the number of steps, calories consumed and distance. If the running track is enabled in the settings, you can also see the running track recorded by GPS in the time tag.

Click Left The calendar in the upper corner can intuitively see the completion of daily sports in the calendar. Click any day to enter the sports interface of the day to view detailed data.

The bar graph at the upper right corner is the data for counting the amount of exercise and sleep. You can switch between weekly view and monthly view.

The leaderboard interface can be used to pk the amount of exercise with users who use the weloop device together, and can also actively add friends to follow each other's movement information at any time in the friends interface.

The personal interface is about your own details and setting sports goals. Weloop encourages us to exercise more, so every time we complete the sports goals, there will be rewards for points, and the number of gold, silver and bronze medals will be accumulated according to the daily ranking of the first, second and third place winners. Points can be exchanged for gold coins to reduce or exempt to buy Weile products again.

The device interface will display all the found Weile devices when connecting the device for the first time, then select the device we want to connect, and it will connect after a while.

Message push is a whitelist mechanism. If you want to push application messages to the bracelet, just tick the front. Phone, SMS and WeChat are checked by default. More application message push can be selected from others

Agenda reminders can be added actively. On the specified date and time, the bracelet will remind you of the content.

Three daily alarm clocks can be added, and any combination from Monday to Sunday can be customized. At the alarm time, the bracelet will vibrate 13 times. An office worker like me wears a bracelet on his hand when he sleeps. He will only wake up in the morning and will not affect others. This setting is just suitable for my sleeping party.

The Do Not Disturb period is defined as a certain period of time. The bracelet will only receive messages, but will not vibrate or light up the screen. Necessary function for anti disturbance at night. It should be noted that once this is enabled, it is automatically executed. We don't need to care about it. It will automatically enter the Do Not Disturb mode at night and automatically close in the morning. On the bracelet, the Do Not Disturb function is activated and needs to be deactivated.

In the basic settings, messages can be set to instantly display on the screen. Left hand and right hand wearing habits are used to adjust the text direction. When the screen is turned on, each time the screen is turned on, the screen will automatically light up, saving the steps of long press.

Vertical display means that information such as time and date will be displayed vertically only in the time interface. In other function and message alert interfaces, the screen is still horizontal.

After automatic synchronization is turned on, it will be synchronized every 4 hours.

After the bracelet anti loss function is enabled, the bracelet will vibrate once every time the Bluetooth is disconnected when the bracelet is too far away from the mobile phone.

When the running track is enabled, it will automatically record the running track through the GPS function of the mobile phone when running.

The goal progress notice is at the specified time point. The bracelet reminds you how much exercise you need today, and how far you still have to go according to your own goal.

Restarting the device, restoring factory settings, and unbinding the device will not be explained. Everyone knows that.

When the bracelet has new firmware, there will be a small red dot prompt on the firmware update icon. Entering the update interface, you can upgrade the firmware of the bracelet over the air through Bluetooth, which is very convenient. Once the bracelet is matched with the mobile phone, it will automatically connect each time you turn on the phone. After the phone and the bracelet are too far away and are interrupted, they will automatically connect again when they come back together.

Another function added by Now 2 over the previous Now, Now c and Xiaohei series is the incoming call firewall. Enter the call identification interface, and you can set up automatic interception of harassment, fraud, marketing, and real estate calls. When a number in the harassment blacklist calls, the bracelet will automatically hang up the phone. In the call record, you can left swipe a call number, mark it as a harassment call, or directly pull it into the blacklist. In the future, the call will automatically hang up as soon as it comes in, playing the role of anti harassment.

Chapter V Charging and Endurance

The charging of Now 2 is as simple as that of Now C. Just insert the charging bayonet into the slot of the bracelet according to the direction. The more you charge it for 2 hours, the shock will remind you when it is fully charged. I filled the Now 2 bracelet on April 29. Up to now, dozens of messages have been pushed every day. In addition to frequent drumming, debugging and photographing, there is still a grid of power, which is much longer than the standby time of now C. The standby time of Now C is only 7 days at most. At present, the standby time of my heavy use of Now 2 can easily reach 10 days. It seems that the official claim that 2 weeks of standby is not a lie. Compared with the ticwatch, which charges once a day, the now2 standby time is enough for me to travel for a week without a charging buckle.

Chapter VI Waterproof Test

Now 2 supports 3ATM waterproof standard. Compared with ip67 and ip68 of electronic equipment, the waterproof level of Now 2 is more strict. It is strictly forbidden to take the Ip67 waterproof electronic equipment for bathing and soaking in the pool. But for our now 2, now c and the little black 1 generation, I take a bath, swim, soak in the pool and steam sauna, and all kinds of abuse are completely stress free.

After nearly half a month of use and experience, it can be said that now 2 is a smart bracelet worth buying. It has a standby time of up to two weeks, and can monitor exercise, sleep and heart rate, The OLED display screen displays the messages on the mobile phone in real time, and the bracelet has 3ATM waterproof function and will not be damaged if dropped at any angle within 2 meters.

I have come from the era of weloop 1.0 step by step. At that time, the now series bracelet and the Xiaohei watch were two independent APPs, which were not common to each other. The sleep monitoring of the bracelet needed to be manually opened. After opening, the bracelet could not receive message push. Only by manually canceling the sleep mode can you receive messages. Only one message can be retained on the bracelet. There is no automatic and manual Do Not Disturb. The app function is not perfect, and movement often does not generate labels. Later, through the unremitting efforts of engineers, the watch and bracelet APP have been unified in the 3.0 era. The bracelet can retain three messages, use the server of bong to calculate movement data, and can automatically detect sleep. In today's 4.0 era, after years of technology accumulation, all algorithms are developed by Weloop itself, sleep monitoring is quite accurate, and the firmware of the bracelet and the functions of the APP are becoming more and more perfect. Although the weather function is not open at present, and there are still some bugs and small problems, I believe that in the near future, all problems will be solved successfully through the unremitting efforts of Weloop engineers.
