According to SlashGear, Samsung is currently developing an MR helmet with hybrid reality technology (MR, hybrid of virtual reality and augmented reality), which allows the wearer to interact with real things after wearing the helmet.
According to Samsung's internal R&D personnel, Samsung is currently building a hybrid reality helmet that can capture images in real scenes through cameras and image sensors, and then convert real images into virtual scenes of the helmet. That is to say, the content presented in this hybrid reality helmet is not completely "virtual", and the scene also contains real things, such as the table in the room, the computer on the table, the sofa, the cat and dog, and so on. By integrating reality into the VR scene, we can realize the linkage with the real scene in virtual reality.
Moreover, the helmet also supports multi person operation. For example, you and your friends wear a virtual reality helmet in the room. Although you both wear helmets, you can interact in the VR scene as if you were in reality, so as to realize the VR multi person interaction model.
It is known that hybrid reality is the next stage of virtual reality. This technology builds an interactive feedback information loop between the virtual world, the real world and users by introducing real scene information into the virtual environment, so as to enhance the real feeling of the user experience. However, as the current virtual reality technology is still immature, there is still a certain distance between the real hybrid reality technology and us.
