MediaTek CES2016 issued three successive calls to take over intelligent hardware

MediaTek, a mobile chip manufacturer, showed three new processors at this CES, but none of them were designed for smart phones or tablets. This time, they targeted smart watches, Internet of Things devices and Blu ray video players. The three chip models are MT8581 MT2523、MT7697。

MT8581 processor is designed by MediaTek for Blu ray player and other TV set-top box products, which supports the decoding of ultra-high definition 2160P video and HDR image. At the same time, MT8581 also supports VP9 video playback of H2.65/HEVC and 3840 × 2160 resolution/60fps, and VC-1 video playback of MP2, VP8 and 1080p/60fps. Shipment will start in the second half of 2016.

MT2523 This low-power integrated processor is specially designed for smart watches, with built-in GPS and low-power Bluetooth dual support. MediaTek said that the MT2523 supports a high-resolution screen and can bring up to a week's endurance. The smart watch equipped with MT2523 processor will be unveiled in the first half of this year.

MT7697 This latest MT7697 processor of MediaTek is specially designed for Internet of Things and smart home products. It supports low-power Bluetooth, dual band Wi Fi and other connections, including smart bulbs, thermostats, webcams and other products that can be accessed to the Internet of Things or smart phones through MT7697.
