In the eyes of many people, UAVs are more aerial photography tools or advanced model "toys", while Territory seems to be trying to break people's inherent understanding. Hornet S, the upcoming Bumblebee, adopts a full streamline design, adds an exaggerated indicator design, and raises the speed of civilian UAVs to 120km/h. Packaging and accessories

The simplified Hornet S of Bumblebee is packed in a white paper box, while the machine itself is available in black, white and red (commemorative version).


The machine is available in three versions: beginner version, traversal version and aerial version. Among them, traversal version is the version with FPV first person camera and glasses (mentioned below), while aerial version is the version with PTZ and image transmission module.


Inside the package, there is a flannelette pad that is high enough to protect the machine.


The cross version and aerial version are packed in square box.


The remote control, UAV and PTZ are packed in different boxes, each with its own description and introduction.


The shape and key setting of remote control are consistent with those of professional entry-level UAVs.


Gear setting, one button homing/takeoff and landing and other professional entry machine functions are all in place. On the top are the light color switch and shutter/video button, and on both sides are the control wheels of the PTZ.


The "anti slip spike" on the top of the rocker is not as sharp as the products of the same industry. The touch and damping are both pleasing, and it is easy to use.


The convex part on the back of the remote control has interfaces for image transmission and FPV, and mirco USB interface for charging. The finger holding part has an additional silicone pad. The overall rounded shape and light weight make the remote control feel good.


There is a hidden mobile phone bracket on the top, which can support mobile phones under 6 inches.


The image transmission display of the aerial camera is an independent module, which can be mounted on the remote control like a mobile phone.


The time travel version (FPV first person perspective) is equipped with special VR glasses to directly transmit the images of the machine camera. This is a very lethal setting for ordinary consumers, regardless of concept or experience.


The bottom of the glasses is a USB interface and a TF card slot.


There are many control buttons and interfaces on both sides of the folding mirror leg, which are connected to the remote control through the AV to USB cable.


Appearance and details

The black one on the left is the FPV, and the right one is the aerial version (with PTZ) of the engineering machine. It is worth noting that the black mass production version of the rotor is also black, rather than white in the figure.


Hornet S of Bumblebee has streamline design everywhere, and its overall appearance is much higher than that of the common "cute" UAV.


Modular design is adopted for the whole machine and accessories. Accessories such as PTZ are connected through contacts, which can be easily loaded and unloaded.


The status light under the rotor is also streamlined, and also serves as the landing gear.


There is a reserved space in the front of the fuselage, which can be inserted into the through version of FPV camera.


Both the PTZ bracket and the camera itself are clearly streamlined. The switch is set above the camera and the card slot is on the back.


The size of the machine body is 232 * 232 * 63mm, which is one circle smaller than the professional entry-level machines such as Dajiang Genie 3 and Zero Xplorer. The battery is only 600g heavy, and the machine body is very light.


The most obvious feature of FPV is the camera module at the front of the fuselage.


The battery is installed at the back of the body, and can be directly pulled out by pressing the button. Below the battery compartment is a circuit board with shielding stickers, and above it is a GPS/GLONASS dual-mode antenna.


The battery capacity is 2500mAh (28.5Wh), which can provide about 20 minutes of battery life. The back of the battery is a bar shaped power indicator and switch.


It is also a FPV camera with contact connection.


After powering on, the status light below the rotor and the status indicator behind it will light up, which is quite cool and unrestrained. It is like Audi, the light factory in the unmanned aircraft industry


Flight and experience

Hornet S of Bumblebee has added many functions that are friendly to beginners, such as one button takeoff and landing, one button return, and beginner mode with speed limit and range limit, which is basically the level of power on and fly. The remote control radius of the machine is 800m, and the flight height is about 100m.


But after the machine is powered on, what impressed the author most was its status light. Through the switch button on the remote control, you can switch between different color combination lights. When it is lit in dark light, it has a strong attribute of cool outfit.


If the machine looks like a sports car, the official maximum speed of 120km/h and acceleration of 3s per 100km/h are really beyond the running level.


The test site is between buildings, which affects the GPS positioning function of the machine, but the machine can still remain relatively static in the semi manual mode, with good stability performance.


The power margin provided by the motor of the machine is very large, and it can go up as soon as you push the accelerator. After removing the PTZ, the speed is really not covered. With the compact body, the speed sense is several levels higher than that of similar products such as Dajiang Genie 3 and Zero Xplorer.

The territory Hornet S has a good performance in ease of use and speed. With its own GPS positioning and many one button functions, it can be said that at the level of 999 yuan, it is a rare opponent. But unfortunately, the engineering machine we experienced this time is the PTZ version, not the FPV traversal version that I expected more. After all, playing UAVs from the first perspective will be much more compelling and exciting.
