Recently, as the official mouthpiece of BlackBerry, CrackBerry revealed its second Android model, code named "Vienna", as shown in the figure above. It looks a bit anxious and hopes the real machine will look better.
The new machine has just leaked, and Priv has not been acquired by many people. We are interested in how BlackBerry can do Android. Then the focus must be the customized app. Now the BlackBerry bucket has been taken down by experts, and the oil you need to experience can be tried by yourself. First, you need a machine that meets the following requirements:
The system is above Android 5.0 and below 6.0; (The original editor used 4.4 Xiaomi Note to toss about for a long time, and his IQ was critical)
It must be the machine behind the root;
Recovery with a third party;
Then go to Download all the documents, and use Recovery to brush in the required frames and services in the following order (I believe that all the engine oils are old drivers, and this tip is enough):
BlackBerry Resources.zip;
BlackBerry Productivity Edge.zip;
BlackBerry Services.zip;
BlackBerry Launcher.zip;
Other files you like can be imported.
After that, we can begin to experience the special Android in the rumors. I use the native moto x pro of the Bank of China to try, and the actual experience may be different.
The first is the BlackBerry Launcher, which is not very different from the native one. Unfortunately, it is very unstable on the Xiaobian machine. Basically, any operation will automatically crash. Of course, like the Priv demo video, press and hold the Home key to slide up to call up the BlackBerry Hub. Device search and Google search are impossible, and the background is still the original card style. It is estimated that these details are the characteristics of Priv customized ROMs. The built-in shortcuts are acceptable. Since the Launcher will crash automatically, we don't know how many shortcuts are available.
It is worth mentioning that there are keyboard shortcuts in the settings of Launcher, which is believed to be optimized for Priv models with keyboard to improve work efficiency. (Sure enough, it's still a sharp tool for squeezing employees)
Then came BlackBerry Hub, the hallmark of BlackBerry, the collection center of various information. In order to cooperate with Android, it used Material Design, and its operation also followed the native Android specification. In practice, it feels like a notification center with a distinctive interface.
(Blackberry BB10 can directly reply to Facebook messages in the Hub)
(Android will jump to the new SMS interface when writing SMS in the Hub)
As a reminder, after all, it is only an application on Android, so it is not as well integrated as our BB10 system. For example, operations such as creating a new SMS will jump to the writing interface of the SMS app. Unlike BB10, it can complete related operations on the Hub. It is unclear whether the integration on BlackBerry's own Priv will be better.
The two apps, Contacts and Calendar, have made relevant modifications in conjunction with Android to provide an experience as close to BB10 on Android as possible. The most notable thing is that WeChat has been found in the account settings, and may also be able to synchronize with other apps. I am curious about what WeChat can synchronize to the calendar...
The device that replaces Google search on the BlackBerry's own machine is a search device that has a passable function. It can search for apps, files, photos, videos, etc., as well as instant operations, which are in line with the BlackBerry style. But when you are outside the wall, compared with Now On Tap, it is a cinder.
What is worth mentioning is the two apps of notes and tasks. Who can tell the difference between these two interfaces without looking at the text! Is it to play with the rhythm that everyone finds fault with??
After the new operation, there are a few differences. But on BB10, a Remember perfectly replaces the two products, and Evernote synchronization. I can't help but wonder whether the product manager is schizophrenic when making demands.
Since the moto x pro on the small editor can't be fitted with a password manager, it can't be demonstrated to everyone. Here is a passport interface for everyone to refer to. After all, it's just a local app, with no synchronization function.
By the way, I almost forgot to mention the BlackBerry Keyboard that BlackBerry is proud of. It is indeed commendable that the keyboard layout and sliding input on the BB10 have all been realized on Android, and the vertical sliding switch number symbols and the right to left sliding delete gesture on the keyboard have all been preserved. It is worthy of being a Blackberry specialized in keyboard for 30 years.
However, there is no Chinese language in the long list of supported languages! There is no Chinese! There is no Chinese! (Tell the important thing three times) So for most users in China, it's just a matter of merging. Of course, it's OK to go out and install an X.
From this experience of the whole family bucket, BlackBerry really tries to bring its own features into Android, but it is still not as good as its own system when integrated. It is unclear whether it will be better on its own machine. For the domestic market, there is no localization, the performance of the Hub is not satisfactory, and the featured keyboard does not support Chinese. Users who want to cut hands should consider carefully, and if you have enough feelings, you can buy it. As for those bought for X installation, it would be better to buy a Blackberry Porsche Design machine. (Anyway, just to install X, the Android with $699 won't be as good as a Porsche logo.)
