According to the content of the developer's document, Android 12L allows the current application to start the second level page in a split screen mode in the horizontal screen state. On the second level page B, you can also start to jump to the third level page C, or drag the second level page B to the left to become the main page of the current application, and then the right can display the new C page in a split screen mode.

The left and right pages can also freely adjust the display scale; Google also specified the return operation logic under split screen and the content switching logic between horizontal and vertical screens.

In addition, the page display content of the foldable device will adjust the corresponding layout according to the folding or expansion of the screen.

It can be seen that the above content of Android 12L is basically the same as the "parallel horizon" function that Huawei has pushed on the tablet since 2019. Of course, the biggest advantage of Google's move is that in the future, tablet manufacturers will finally have a unified development framework to follow without having to make a separate set of adaptation, which will be a great benefit to the future application ecosystem of Android tablets.

According to the officially announced plan, Android 12L will launch its first beta version in December this year, and will successively launch Beta 2 and Beta 3 versions in January and February next year, and the official version will be launched in the first quarter.
