As a cost-effective full frame SLR, Canon 6D also adds convenient WIFI transmission function. Now I will bring you the trial experience of Canon 6D's WIFI mobile terminal.
Canon 6D mobile phone has Android version and iOS version, and the operation methods are the same, so here we only use Android client to introduce.
The instructions for setting up Canon 6D WIFI can be found in the manual. I will not make a summary here.
After setting, a WIFI password will be automatically generated randomly. It is not good because it is generated randomly. You need to enter a password every time. If you fix a password, you only need to connect 6D WIFI on the WIFI option in the future.
Connect your Canon 6D to your mobile phone.
Even if the mobile phone is connected to the 6D WIFI, it can only be used by the client. You can download the client of your mobile platform on demand.
Open the mobile phone client and select the "Connect Camera" option to pair them.
At this time, 6D will also prompt you whether you are connected to the phone, and confirm it.
This is already connected. At this time, you can view the photo content in the camera at will, and you can also directly use this client to control the camera shooting.
Let's take a look at the function of viewing camera content first. Click it to see all the samples in the camera.
The preview can also be sorted by date, folder and score.
You can also quickly jump to files with different dates.
Click a sample to see the effect, and click "INFO" in the upper right corner to view the EXIF of the photo.
In the viewing interface, you can directly zoom in to view the details.
Xiao Bian tries to export the photos directly to the mobile phone. After exporting, there will be a downward arrow in the upper right corner, indicating that the photos have been exported to the mobile phone.
A folder called "Canon EOS 6D" will be generated in the phone album, and the photos you exported are here.
The client supports exporting multiple pictures to the phone at the same time. Click the icon in the lower left corner and select Save to Phone.
Then select the photos you want to export in the gallery.
Multiple images can be exported to mobile phones at the same time.
I roughly measured it. It takes about 3 - 4 seconds to export a photo, which is relatively fast. However, the exported resolution will be compressed. The exported sample taken by the editor with the maximum resolution is 1920 * 1280. However, for instant viewing on mobile phones or instant uploading to social platforms for sharing, this resolution is enough. For Xiaobian, this product is the magic weapon of the press conference! After shooting, you can export high-definition photos to Weibo for instant sharing.
Next, let's take a look at the remote shooting function.
Before starting remote shooting, it is strongly recommended to call out the "Display Auto Focus Button".
After remote shooting is enabled, 6D image projection will be immediately seen on the mobile phone client.
The picture is projected in real time. When the camera moves, the picture on the phone will follow. In addition, it can also set the focus directly on the phone, or spot metering, but it cannot support touch screen focusing.
Therefore, Xiao Bian said that the "display auto focus button" should be turned out. The small round button on the picture is the focus button, and the large one is the shutter. If you don't turn this out, there is only one shutter key, and the camera will focus automatically only when the shutter is pressed. If you want to focus well before shooting, remember to turn the focus button out first.
Click the adjustment button at the lower right corner to adjust the camera settings. The camera settings here will vary according to different shooting programs. For example, the small editor in the picture uses gear A, which can adjust the aperture, ISO and white balance.
This is the T gear, which can adjust the shutter, aperture and ISO. Pay attention to the M gear, which is the only one that can be adjusted.
This is the P gear, and only ISO and white balance can be adjusted directly.
Some other shooting programs cannot be used on this client, so it is better to set 6D to M, A or T.
When focusing, double-click the phone screen to zoom in and watch the focusing effect.
After shooting, click the lower left corner to play back the sample.
You can directly enlarge the picture to view the details under the interface of viewing the sample.
This introduction to remote shooting is about the same, which can be said to be more practical, especially in some scenes that need to be shot with a camera mounted for a long time, such as shooting night scenes with a long exposure. In addition, it's still a secret shooting artifact! In the process of shooting, you only need to fix the camera position. In addition, you don't need to touch the camera to shoot without knowing it (as long as the subject can't hear the shutter sound of your camera). When shooting wild animals or insects in the wild, it will play a lot of roles. Fix the camera well, and when the animals or insects enter your viewfinder, you can shoot remotely. Also, when taking a selfie or group photo, fix the camera, watch the shooting effect directly on the mobile phone, and pose well, then you can use the mobile phone to remotely shoot, which is very convenient.
To sum up, the WIFI function of Canon 6D is relatively practical. In addition to the trouble of starting WIFI, the user experience of the mobile phone client is also excellent. The interface is simple and clear, easy to use, and easy to operate. The software features are also complete, and the speed of WIFI photo transmission is relatively fast. As long as the performance of your mobile phone is good enough, the software can also be played well and the operation will be smooth. In general, EOS Remote is a good mobile client!
