"Materialism" How many USB's do you need for your patch board?
Igao7 Hao Xiaoru 2016-05-15 12:00

I bought four millet patch boards, two for colleagues, two for myself, one for the company and one for my family.

What attracts me is:

I'm not satisfied with it, just like everyone else:

On a business trip with Xiaomi patch board, thanks to its petite figure and three USB ports, the mobile phone charger is saved. It is not too much to call it a powerful tool for business trip. However, the three USB interfaces of the Xiaomi patch board make people happy and worried.

The joy is that there are three, and any one can charge the iPad at full speed when working alone. The worry is that if you are holding two flagship mobile phones, such as the Xiaomi Note, Samsung Galaxy S6 and an iPad, then these three devices all support 5V2A charging, you will have to slowly grab water from the 3.1A water main.

If the output of these three USB interfaces can reach 5V/6A, that is, 30W, it means that most USB electronic devices can be charged at full speed. Because it's easy - I know my device is always charging at the optimal speed. Otherwise, when charging the 2A enabled mobile phones and iPads together, they will be tangled: they all reduce their speed from 100 miles to 75 miles, but I actually prefer the mobile phones to be full first.

Six full speed USB, is that enough?

Not all people care much about the charging time of mobile phones. For them, one and a half hours is not different from two hours, but people who focus on efficiency will pay special attention to this. What if this efficiency oriented person owns multiple high-end mobile phones at the same time? In fact, there are many USB port chargers on the market, and the one I used recently is the best one - it has six USB ports, a total power of 60W, and each port can reach 5V2A. It is Anker A2123, and the price is 199 yuan.

When I got this product, I sent a friend circle saying, "It can charge six iPads at full speed at the same time, and I still need five iPads.". There will be more and more devices supporting 2A charging. If you already have multiple such devices in your home, while pursuing efficiency and convenience, this six member monster is really worth considering. For me, it's very happy to have 4 full speed USB at present. And each must be the same. Plug it in casually. Don't divide it into 1A and 2A. Let the device that needs to be charged distinguish by itself.

Note: Some old devices without current limiting protection design, such as some Bluetooth headsets, are not suitable for charging with 2A port.

Neglected data lines

I usually experience a lot of intelligent hardware. There are a lot of MicroUSB data cables. I thought that the difference between cables was only whether they can transmit data (function) and whether they are durable (quality). Through professional instrument measurement, I learned that the power supply speed of good line and poor line is obviously different. Some lines designed for 1A equipment can never support 2A equipment.

In general, the original line can achieve the best power supply speed. Third party lines of good quality are also acceptable, such as the data line of the Kindle and the legendary original LG mobile phone line. People pursuing efficiency should bring the original line or the line of the same quality, otherwise they may lose the starting line of charging. Anyone who bought iPhone 6 and used less than 30 yuan fake Lightning cable knows why your iPhone charges slowly?

summary

If I go on a business trip again, I will still bring the millet patch board for standby. But I'm looking forward to its next generation using three full speed USB interfaces, even if it costs more.
