If you need to input a lot of words every day, and if you have requirements for hand feel and quality, then starting a mechanical keyboard can undoubtedly improve your feeling at work. If you like to take the portable iPad out with you like me, a Bluetooth mechanical keyboard will be even more perfect. The Varmilo VB660M is a Bluetooth mechanical keyboard.
The packaging of Varmilo VB660M is simple and elegant, and kraft paper packaging is in line with my aesthetic. The packaging used by Qiqi has a high level of hardness and texture, so there is no need to worry about violent delivery.
Varmilo VB660M uses a thermal sublimation key cap, so it is also marked on the package. To mention a little, there are few technologies used for mechanical keyboard keycap characters, usually laser, printing, thermal sublimation, two-color molding, etc. The latter two are relatively rare at present due to cost reasons. Through font diffusion control, it is easy to judge the excellence of thermal sublimation technology.
Varmilo logo on the other side. Varmilo is a new brand launched by Shenzhen Zhihai Technology. Previously, it was launched through the agency of South Korean brand Leopold, which has accumulated experience, so it is now less well-known.
There are options for shaft body color, body color, and key cap color on the side. It can be seen that the Varmilo VB660M is also rich in customization, which is a special existence in mechanical keyboards.
Varmilo VB660M is modified based on Leopold FC660M, so there is little difference in shape design and function. It adopts the design of key wire separation, uses mini USB interface, gold-plated, and has binding tape and dust cover.
Compared with the Loser wire puller attached to other mechanical keyboards, the wire puller attached to Varmilo VB660M is undoubtedly better. The damage to the key cap caused by wire pulling can be basically ignored, and it is also easier to pull the key.
Varmilo VB660M is modified based on Leopold FC660M, so there is no change in the key design. Varmilo VB660M is a 60% keyboard, with 66 keys in total. Compared with most 60% keyboards, it adds independent direction keys, as well as commonly used installation and deletion keys. The overall use is very consistent with my requirements. And if you want to start, you should consider that the next F area is your daily use.
The back is still the same, but the dip switch on the left is strict.
The back nameplate indicates that the lithium battery capacity is 1200mAh. I haven't used any other Bluetooth mechanical keyboard, so I don't know whether this capacity is large or small.
Originally, the dip bit was covered by the number. There are 4 anti slip pads and foot pads on the back, which are of high quality.
The shell used by Varmilo VB660M is actually the shell of Leopold FC660M. Its colorful color and surface gloss make the picture easy to feel like a metal shell.
The key cap of Varmilo VB660M is made of PBT, and the technology is sublimation. The character printing has been mentioned above, and the material of key cap is mentioned here. At present, most mechanical keyboard keycaps are made of PBT, POM and ABS, of which PBT and POM are famous for their wear resistance, while ABS keycaps have certain advantages in technical treatment, cost and feel. The character diffusion of Varmilo VB660M is relatively slight, and the thermal sublimation technology used is relatively good.
The large key position of Varmilo VB660M uses the satellite axis design. It is also said here that the large key position in the mechanical keyboard is usually designed with a satellite shaft or a balance bar. The satellite shaft is relatively simple to remove the key cap, while the balance bar is superior in cost, and usually has a much clearer feel than the satellite shaft. Of course, the pressing feel of large keys is largely related to tuning. It is not easy to think that the satellite axis is meat and the balance bar is brittle.
Varmilo VB660M is designed for full lamp, which is quite surprising to me. Of course, the battery with a capacity of 1200mAh has better endurance in full light mode, so Liangsao will give up the endurance.
Varmilo VB660M does not have much lighting effect. It is a 4-level brightness adjustment. It is a bit blind when looking directly at the highest brightness. Of course, due to the PBT material, it can't transmit light, so the brightness is slightly less.
Of course, the biggest feature of Varmilo VB660M is Bluetooth. Maybe because of technology, there have been many Bluetooth mechanical keyboards before, but now only the Filco mini is known. However, due to its wonderful key design, it is also difficult to start.
The Varmilo VB660M is very simple to use. You can turn on the phone by pressing Fn+Inster, and then use it through Bluetooth connection. Of course, the reason why the Bluetooth mechanical keyboard cannot be popularized is largely due to the previous technical disharmony, which makes the delay and shortcut keys more difficult. When I use Varmilo VB660M, I don't feel delayed. Of course, if it is a more intense computer game, it will have a slight impact.
Varmilo VB660M does not set shortcut keys for iOS devices, so touch screen operation is still required in use. For Android devices, due to the system support, it is basically possible to operate without touch screen. Of course, since my main purpose is to carry my iPad for field writing, whether to support shortcut keys is not my focus.
As a mechanical keyboard player, Leopold FC660M is a keyboard I like very much, and the Varmilo VB660M designed based on it naturally meets my various aesthetic requirements. The Bluetooth function added by Varmilo VB660M makes it possible for me to take the iPad easily and balance the weight and feel when writing articles.
