The development of ubiquitous energy has always been a part of MIT research to deal with the battery endurance problems we encounter in the process of using mobile devices. Massachusetts Institute of Technology has recently developed a transparent solar panel that is installed on the top of the screen's tablet computer and mobile phone, and extracts energy and directly transmits it to our mobile devices.
The core of this transparent solar panel is a kind of paint that can absorb light of various wavelengths. Scientists mix at least two kinds of paint in a special proportion to make a kind of energy gathering material. The paint can be made into color or transparent and colorless. When the mixed coating is applied to the glass surface, the coating will absorb sunlight and convert it into energy, which will be transmitted to the solar cell installed at the edge of the glass.
It is different from the traditional solar panel because visible light passes through it, so it cannot be completely transparent after accumulating UVA and visible light. The battery is composed of several layers of organic materials, which can be easily integrated into existing industrial production processes and technologies. So far, this new battery panel can convert about 2% efficiency and 70% transparency. The product is still in the process of further improvement, and the numerical value will also change.
