MT6589 is a SoC widely used in mid and low-end mobile phones. It uses a 1.2GHz quad core Cortex-A7 core CPU and a 286MHz SGX544. The MT6589T newly released by MediaTek has a certain improvement in CPU and GPU main frequency, reaching 1.5GHz and 357MHz respectively.
The following is the comparison table of MT6589M, MT6589 and MT6589T
The MT6589M is a simplified version of MT6589. Of course, we pay more attention to the MT6589T. The "T" here means Turbo. Compared with MT6589, the CPU frequency is increased to 1.5GHz and the GPU frequency is increased to 357MHz. We know that many devices using MT6589 use 720P or even 1080P screens. The previous 286MHz GPU frequency can hardly guarantee the smoothness of these high-definition or even full high-definition screens in the game. This time, MediaTek upgraded the GPU to 357MHz, which can at least provide better support for 720P devices. For specific performance, we can refer to the SGX544 (384MHz) I9260 Performance. This GPU is also much better than the Adreno 305 used by Qualcomm's low-end Snapdragon 400.
