Brian White, an analyst at Topeka Capital, said today that Apple will launch low-cost iPhones in 2013. White believes that the cheap iPhone will open a new growth opportunity for Apple in China and other regions. White believes that he believes Apple will launch a low-cost iPhone in 2013, possibly as early as June. White suggested that the phone is called "iPhone mini" or "iPhone Air".
White believes that the non subsidy price of new mobile phones (bare phone price) is 250-350 dollars, and the price of iPhone unlocked version is 649 dollars.
The report wrote: "The price of 250-350 dollars is very competitive, and the high-end mobile phones provided by ****** in China are priced at 320 dollars. We believe that the price of 250-300 dollars can enable Apple to gain a larger market in smartphones, better solve problems in some developing countries' markets, such as Apple, and gain more opportunities in Brazil, Russia, India and other regions." White also said, Low price iPhones will have lower profit margins than full price iPhones, but if they are shipped in large quantities, they will be higher than the average. The launch of low-cost iPhone can help Apple reach a deal with China Mobile.
