IDC recently announced the global tablet shipments in Q3 2012. In the last quarter, the global tablet shipments accounted for 27.8 million units, of which Apple shipped 14 million units, accounting for 50.4%. Samsung and Amazon ranked behind with 5.1 million units (18.4%) and 2.5 million units (9.0%) respectively, while Asustek only lagged behind Amazon with 100000 units thanks to the contract Nexus 7.
