Qualcomm ushered in the new Snapdragon 800, 600, 400 and 200 series processors at CES 2013. The Snapdragon 600 can be regarded as an upgraded version of the current Snapdragon S4 Pro. The clock frequency of the four core Krait 300 CPU (currently the Snapdragon S4 Pro is Krait 200) is 1.9 GHz, plus the Adreno 320 GPU and LPDDR3 memory module. Gao said that this chip can reduce the loading time by 40% and further reduce the power consumption compared with Snapdragon S4 Pro. Snapdragon 600 will be officially launched in the second quarter of this year.

Dr. Paul Jacobs, Chairman and CEO of Qualcomm

Snapdragon 800 is the flagship product of Qualcomm. The Snapdragon S4, which surpasses all others, has a 75% performance improvement. The new Krait 400 CPU architecture can reach 2.3GHz in the main frequency. It can support the resolution of QFHD up to 2560 × 2048. It integrates a faster LTE baseband chip with lower power consumption. The graphics chip is upgraded to Adreno 330, twice the performance of Adreno 320, The Snapdragon 800 can be used not only on tablets, but also on smart phones. So by the middle of this year, we will be able to use 2.3GHz smart phones, which is really expected. The Snapdragon 400 and 200, which are relatively low end points, were not introduced on site.
