Microsoft and Huawei jointly launched a customized version of Ascend W1 Windows Phone in Africa. Microsoft seems to want to make a difference in emerging markets. This mobile phone will be the first 4Afrika series, a major part of Microsoft's strategy in Africa. Huawei 4Afrika will be launched in Egypt, Cote d'Ivoire, Kenya, Morocco, Nigeria and South Africa, and will provide blue, red, black and white.

This mobile phone has a 4-inch WVGA display, dual core 1.2GHz Qualcomm processor, and 4GB built-in. Airframe preloads relevant APP for African market. Microsoft believes that targeted local applications can attract consumers.

Microsoft's Windows Phone department director in charge of the Middle East and Africa region said that Microsoft regards emerging regions as important markets that can grow and improve.
