Before One X+evaluation We have conducted relevant tests on the high-frequency version of Tegra3, and the performance is indeed improved compared with the previous Tegra3, which is the same as the current high-frequency quad core version Exynos 4412 What are the performance differences between them?
One X+uses Tegra3 1.6G (single core maximum frequency 1.7G) quad core processor, based on Cortex-A9 core, 40nm process, and equipped with ULP Geforce graphics processing core. Galaxy Note II uses Exynos 4412 1.6G quad core processor, based on Cortex-A9 core, 32nm HKMG process, and Mali-400MP4 graphics processing core. Literally, the gap between the two seems to be small, and the parameters are not mentioned too much. We directly enter the actual measurement.
Theoretical score
The theoretical score is also partially evaluated in the respective evaluation of the two machines, so it will not be described in detail. The following is a partial score comparison.
An Tu Tu ran points
GLBenchmark
Sunspider
Vellamo (One X+in the middle, Note II on the right)
In terms of overall score, almost every item is higher than the Galaxy Note II, which is also consistent with the objective fact that the Exynos 4412 is indeed better than the Tegra3 in the same frequency performance.
Actual demo video
The video shows common items such as the number of initiator frames, web browsing performance, and game loading performance. The result is that the Galaxy Note II performs better.
summary
In terms of architecture, Exynos 4412 is much better than Tegra3. It is much better than Tegra3 in terms of CPU general performance and GPU performance. Of course, Tegra3 can still save some face with its powerful video decoding performance. For SoC with Tegra3 architecture, the status quo can no longer be changed simply by increasing the frequency. For NVIDIA, the performance of this generation of SoC is really unsatisfactory. The performance is moderate, but the heat is relatively high, which is why users do not choose Tegra3 products. The rumored "Tegra4" will have a more advanced architecture, stronger performance and lower heating capacity. I hope we can see Tegra's "counter attack" next year.
