Recently, I believe that all the hot spots about HTC will think of Butterfly of 1080P and Windows Phone 8X of WP8 mobile phones. In fact, HTC's other flagship product, One X+, has also been "quietly" launched. It appears as an upgraded version of the previous generation flagship One X. It is equipped with a 1.7GHz Tegra3 (AP37) processor, upgraded to 1.6 million pixels in front, increased to 2100 mAh in battery, and increased to 64G in storage space. What different feelings will the changes in some indicators bring to us?
appearance
From the front, the appearance of One X+is basically the same as that of One X. From the front, only the following three touch keys have changed to red. This is also the sign of HTC's "overclocking enhanced version". The previous Sensation XE has a similar design.
The earpiece position also continues the design of One series.
The three touch keys light up the red light, which is more cool than the white light of ordinary products.
The difference between the back is not big. There is a red circle at the camera, and the beats logo below has become a pure trademark, which is more conspicuous. The whole back shell uses an integrated molding design, with a frosted surface on the back, but there is also a disadvantage that it is easy to get other colors.
The side of One X+is still designed with curved surface, which is very textured, and the frame is painted with bright finish paint, which forms a strong contrast with the frosted texture behind.
There is a silver key and a microSIM card slot on the top. From this angle, it is easy to find that the camera of One X+stands out a lot. Although the silver outer ring can prevent the lens from scratching, this design still makes people feel uneasy.
The bottom is a "chin up" design with only one microphone.
Accessories list
One X+uses a 4.7 inch screen. The body is not too wide, and there is no pressure for men to hold it with one hand.
The screen of One X+uses SLCD2 technology, with a resolution of 720P, reaching 312 ppi. This screen has good performance in color, fineness and visual angle. Here are some live shots of the effects.
Sense4+system
Sense has always been the benchmark for in-depth customization of Android, and the gorgeous effects and many functions are appreciated by everyone. Sense4+launcher is not different from the previous Sense.
System information, based on Android 4.1.1, software version Sense4+.
Program menu.
The shortcut of the drop-down bar is omitted, and the lack of necessary shortcuts makes it inconvenient to operate.
Turn on the settings to quickly turn off the mobile network. It feels that the design concept of Sense is to integrate the settings with the shortcut of the drop-down menu.
More three-dimensional multitask management than ordinary Android.
The biggest problem with Sense is that it takes a lot of resources. For 1G Ram mobile phones, opening multiple programs may cause some problems.
Virtual key
The virtual key of One X+will appear automatically by default if the third-party software is opened, as shown in the figure, which is very eye-catching. The virtual menu key takes up a lot of screen space.
HTC also considers this problem and can solve it by setting the touch key function. The following figure shows the function of changing the touch multi task key to the menu key.
After changing the function, the virtual menu key disappears and the third-party software is displayed in full screen.
The virtual key of One X+is still flattering and can be closed by itself. However, the author does not understand the reason why the touch key is set as a multi task key. It is directly set as a menu key. Multi task is realized by long press, which is more consistent with the usage habits of ordinary users.
Performance test
As the four core product with the highest frequency on the market, the performance of Tegra3 (AP37) of One X+is also very promising. Tegra3 is one of the first mobile quad core SoCs to be launched, so many products in the later stage are imaginary enemies, and even many dual core products compare their performance with Tegra3. Many NVIDIA fans complain about it, but what about the actual performance of Tegra3 processors upgraded this time?
Theoretical test
Anthare's score run is also a conventional test software. One X+'s score has exceeded 16000. Although this score is not low, it does not seem to match the identity of the 1.7GHz quad core. For the high-frequency A9 core, this score is really not ideal. Of course, there is a big gap between Geforce ULP and some "high score" Mali-400 MP4 or even Adreno 320 in terms of performance, and they will suffer a lot in terms of GPU scores. As for CPU problems, we will verify them through other methods.
The author monitored the frequency distribution of One X+under high load through another software, CPU Spy, and found that most of the time it was at 1.6GHz, which seemed different from the nominal "1.7G quad core".
Enter the hardware information query of Anthare, and the display frequency is 1.7G.
But after entering SetCPU, even if we lock the frequency at 1.7G, the real-time frequency is still 1.6G.
Through consulting materials, We know that Tegra3 (AP37) is actually a 1.6GHz quad core processor. When the CPU utilization is low and only a single core is used, the frequency can reach 1.7GHz This is similar to Intel's "Remax" technology. Of course, this is also a promotional tool of the manufacturer. In fact, users rarely reach the frequency of 1.7G in use.
Sunspider web page Javascript performance test
Using Baidu Browser+T5 kernel test, the frequency lock is 1.6G, which is not ideal compared with the high frequency A9 kernel.
Nenamark2.4
The frame number is 55fps, which is a normal level. It is higher than the Optimus 4X and U985 of 720P+Tegra3.
As for the hardware performance of One X+, we will compare it in detail in the next test.
photograph
The author will have a special article on the photographic performance of One X+. Here are just two samples.
temperature
For a 40nm CPU running at 1.6G, I believe the temperature will not be too low. The author tested the temperature of One X+using a large game (no hands touching the body), and the results are as follows
Both front and back sides are close to 40 degrees (21 degrees), which is still a high temperature. If people play with their hands, they believe that the temperature will be 45 degrees or above. It seems that the high frequency 40nm CPU is relatively hot.
other
In terms of endurance, the author has used it for two and a half hours in a continuous medium intensity (microblog, phone, Internet, etc.), leaving about 50% of the electricity. The endurance performance is good for the battery capacity of 2100 mAh. In terms of signal, the performance of One X+is unsatisfactory. The signal strength is weak. When entering the elevator, there is no signal (the mobile phones I used before have signals). The call quality is also average. I hope HTC can solve the related problems through updating the base.

Summary
One X+can be said to be an untimely machine. Now the Android market is strong, and One X+, as the latest work of the Tegra3 camp, is very awkward in positioning. Butterfly, a fellow student, uses his full HD screen as a selling point, while One X+, in addition to the model that the author appreciates, seems to be lacking. The selling point of "1.7G quad core" is also suspected of fooling consumers. In addition to its super video capability, the SoC of Tegra3 architecture is much less competitive than the chips of Samsung, Qualcomm and other competitors. Even if it reaches 1.6G high frequency, it will not help. We can only look forward to the arrival of Tegra4 next year.
