After Sony developed the stack back facing camera, the first mobile phone equipped with its own stack facing camera, Xperia Z, finally appeared. Now let's see if this new technology back facing camera can bring us new surprises.
Capture interface
Let's get familiar with the shooting interface of Xperia Z:
The shooting interface opens.
There are many shooting options, but in fact, some of them are repetitive functions. For example, switching the front camera is available at the beginning of the shooting interface, and there is another option to switch the front camera.
By the way, the scene recognition in intelligent shooting mode is good.
After the SCN mode is selected, there are also many options to choose from. Click to see a larger picture.
Under the focus option, there is a relatively new function, object tracking.
For example, Xiao Bian is putting Love to play computer games The QR code is set as the tracking object.
As long as the QR code is in the viewfinder, no matter how you move it, you can still track and focus, and the recognition ability is also good.
In the shooting interface, press your finger on the photo library and pull up to see the five pictures taken recently.
Smile shooting provides three levels of smile, namely smile, smile and laugh. Xiao Bian chose to shoot with a smile. The scale on the blue progress bar in the second picture represents whether your smile is enough for automatic smile photography. Smile recognition is basically recognized by the corners of the mouth, so when the editor changes an angle, the progress bar is enough to capture a smile, and the camera will automatically capture your smile. So when using this function, if you see that the progress bar is not enough, let the corners of your mouth rise a bit.
However, there are only 5 people for face recognition, a little less.
Also worth mentioning is its real-time filter.
This one was shot with a pocket model (also known as a miniature model) filter. The effect is good, isn't it.
Daytime shooting effect
Get to the point
Note: The minor editor usually selects the lowest adjustable ISO (that is, 100) when shooting. In the normal shooting mode, when using HDR and intelligent shooting, the camera will automatically adjust the resolution to 1200W. In the spot metering mode, the viewfinder frame does not display normally, so the minor editor can clearly see the immediate effect, Generally, average metering is used for shooting (both average metering and central metering can be displayed normally).
The weather on the day when Xiao Bian took the photo was very gloomy, so the image may not be very good, but it can also represent the shooting ability in cloudy days.
The shooting place is Lianhua Mountain, which happens to be the season when hundreds of flowers bloom on the mountain, so as soon as you enter the garden, you can see many flowers have already opened.
The tree planted by Mr. Hu has not withered yet. It seems that it is well maintained.
The old man came home after flying a kite.
When shooting distant scenes, the details are still weak. In addition, the camera can not get the best performance because of the bad weather.
There are many people flying kites in Lianhua Mountain every season.
Summary during the day: The imaging is normal, but the overall imaging color will be white. The following section of the article will be devoted to that. And because the spot metering is not sensitive, it can only rely on average metering, which will affect the shooting.
HDR
HDR OFF
HDR ON
HDR OFF
HDR ON
HDR OFF
HDR ON.
HDR summary: Although this HDR is effective, the overall picture will be gray, especially in this dark weather scenario, the gray and white situation is more serious. I hope Sony can further adjust the HDR effect in the future.
Macro
The macro performance is good, and the background is more natural, but there is still a problem, that is, the color deviation problem mentioned above by the editor.
The following picture is taken with Xiaomi 2 and Xperia Z at the same location for comparison. You can see the color deviation problem after taking a look. The following comparison pictures can be clicked to open the large picture:
Xperia Z on the left and millet 2 on the right. The following pictures are arranged in this order. You can also check the EXIF in the lower right corner to judge.
Xperia Z will automatically brighten the picture after shooting, so sometimes dark places can also be shot very bright. In the macro contrast between the above figure and Xiaomi 2, the color of Xiaomi 2 is brighter than the naked eye. As for Xperia Z, it is whiter than the naked eye. I found this phenomenon in the stack camera. Every time after shooting, Will automatically highlight the image, perhaps this is the characteristic of this camera
Macro summary: The macro ability is good, but the overall picture is a bit white.
Nightscape
The reason why this photo is so dark is that the average metering is used. If the spot metering mode is normal, it is easy to take a better night view.
In terms of night scene performance, it can be said that the new mobile phones (Z5, Find5, Butterfly) that Xiao Bian has contacted have the best performance. Even at the low ISO limit of 100, the shutter speed can still be 1/8 second, and it is really easy to maintain a brighter picture like the one above. In night scene shooting, a relatively high shutter speed ensures a high film yield.
Because the low ISO is limited, the picture on the viewfinder is basically completely black.
However, since the stack style will have a brightening effect after shooting, the photos taken will be brighter than those in the viewfinder. So this new camera needs to be familiar with before it can be used well.
This is the screenshot of the camera frame of the mobile phone. The screen is still very dark.
But when the shutter is pressed, the image still has enough brightness after imaging.
More night views:
However, when shooting a distant night scene, this brightening is weak:
In the above three pictures, only the places with bright lights can see that the rest are basically black. In fact, Xiao Bian also likes such night scenes, but since so many people are looking for bright night scenes, Xiao Bian also gives some methods to brighten the picture.
Improve ISO, use night view mode for exposure:
When ISO is raised to 400, the picture has been lightened a lot. In fact, the ISO of 400 has done great harm to the picture, especially for the tiny light sensitive elements of the mobile phone camera, so it is good enough. If ISO is further raised, the picture will be more seriously damaged.
This is the sample of the highest ISO (1600) of Xperia Z in the same scene. The noise of the picture is unbearable. Therefore, ISO does not need to be set too high, except under special circumstances.
The following are more samples taken under different ISO standards. You can see the ISO values.
In addition, you can also directly adjust the exposure compensation to improve the picture brightness.
The above two pictures are the shooting samples with one level of exposure added, but the exposure compensation of Xperia Z will improve ISO, which is no different from adjusting ISO.
This is a night scene shot in the night scene mode. When ISO is kept at 100, the exposure time is 1/2 second. It is good that the picture can maintain this brightness even with such a short exposure time. If you don't like the manual mediation shooting mode, it is recommended to turn on the intelligent scene shooting mode.
Summary of night scene: the night scene is still good, and the shutter speed can be faster after adjusting the low ISO, which is a great blessing for users who are not stable enough.
About Hue
(Click the picture to enlarge it)
Here, I use a set of contrast pictures to talk briefly. The left side is Xperia Z, the middle is iPhone 5, and the right side is Canon SLR 5D2. Here, SLR is used for contrast, not for contrast image quality, but for color contrast. Xperia Z tends to be white on the whole. The iPhone is always realistic in color, but the desktop color restoration is not as good as Xperia Z. As for 5D2, it represents the colors seen by the naked eye.
In fact, these problems involve camera algorithms. Different color gamuts have different color restoration. It is not easy to completely and accurately restore colors. The iPhone 5 has done a good job in this regard. As for the new camera produced by Sony itself, its optimization may not be mature enough, so color restoration may not be able to play a good role, but many people have different preferences for color, for example, some people like bright colors, some people like elegant colors, some people like brighter colors, and some people like dark colors. So as long as you like it, you don't need to worry too much.
Overall summary: the performance during the day is a bit disappointing, and after shooting, it will automatically brighten once, resulting in a slightly brighter color. The macro is good. The background is blurry and natural. The recent focusing distance can also be controlled relatively close, so it will be easier to shoot the macro, and the focusing speed and accuracy can also be good. HDR is also a little disappointed. I hope we can do more optimization in the future. The night scene is very good. The shutter speed is fast enough after maintaining a very low ISO, which greatly improves the film production rate. In addition, tracking and focusing, real-time filter and other interesting functions make shooting more fun.
