Vivo held a "dual core x image technology communication meeting" on November 10, warming up the performance and image of the upcoming vivo X90.

At the opening of the press conference, it was announced that vivo would launch MediaTek's 9200, which was released on November 8, using TSMC N4P technology, 17 billion transistors, CPU maintaining 1+3+4 structure, 8MB three-level cache, 6MB system cache, 1 * X3 @ 3.05GHz+3* [email protected] +4* [email protected] The GPU is Immortalis-G715 MC11. From the previous test, The peak performance of this generation of CPU has not improved much, but the GPU performance has soared.

 

Then, Vivo and MediaTek made joint instructions on AI, games, videos, etc. Interestingly, the score of Angel Rabbit's 9200 Tianji in Vivo's hands exceeded 1.28 million points, 20000 points higher than that of MediaTek's own development machine.

 

Then vivo officially released the new self-developed video chip vivo V2, which was disclosed in the previous video conference.

The vivo V2 core is upgraded to on-chip memory, AI computing unit and image processing unit. Change to AI-ISP architecture, customize 10bit MAC circuit, and reduce reasoning delay of 10bit operation by 96% at most compared with traditional NPU, and improve energy efficiency ratio by 200% at most.  

It uses "FIT dual core interconnection technology" to connect vivo V2 and Tianji 9200 in series, so that two chips with completely different architectures and instruction sets can complete dual core interconnection synchronization in 1/100 second, and can cooperate to allocate data and computing power.

AI computing unit 16.3TOPS/W (The Mariana X of TSMC's 6nm process is 11.6TOPS/W, 18TOPS peak). Its near memory DLA (i.e. Deep Learning Accelerator) has a shared SRAM cache and 1.3 trillion bits per second throughput. It claims that its SRAM data throughput power consumption can be reduced by up to 99.2% compared with the DDR external memory commonly used by NPUs, and its energy efficiency ratio can be improved by 200% compared with traditional NPUs.

With stronger computing power, the night view video of this generation of vivo V2 has been upgraded from 1080P of the previous generation to 4K.

 

In terms of images, I emphasized Long focus and capture Ability (motion and dark scenes) enhancement.


Vivo's ZEISS optical hyperdivision algorithm claims to be able to recover about 35% of the definition information of more than 5 times the focal length.

As we all know, when we see the keywords "telephoto" and "computational optical compensation", we can probably say that the 6400W 3.5 times telephoto scheme. PPT also indicated that the new camera (vivo X90 series) will have 2x and 3.5x telephoto.

 

The basis of capturing is "zero delay" shutter and focusing. Vivo claims to be able to achieve 30 ms shutter delay. The new generation of motion detection algorithms include detection and tracking of moving people/objects, and focusing of high-frequency trajectory detection.


In addition to focusing under 0.1lux light, the low light capture also greatly improves ISO to 102400. The algorithm called RawEnhance2.0 is responsible for the superposition of moving pictures and the elimination of smears. The PPT shows the capturing of moving objects under indoor light and weak light, which looks very powerful.
