In the early morning of January 5, AMD released new products at CES, such as the mobile version of the Reelung 6000 series processor, the new Radeon RX 6000S series mobile terminal independent graphics card, the R7-5800X3D processor using 3D V-Cache technology and equipped with 96MB L3 cache, and announced that the Zen 4 CPU will be released in the second half of the year.
At this CES exhibition, the CPU and GPU of AMD mobile terminal and desktop terminal were updated, but the key new products were on the mobile terminal.
Mobile version of the Sharp Dragon 6000 series processor: high-frequency CPU+doubled core display performance

AMD officially released the mobile version of the Sharp Dragon 6000 series processor, including TSMC's 6nm process, the new "Zen 3+" architecture CPU, and RDNA 2 architecture core display. The new processors include two U-series low voltage versions (15W to 28W) and eight H-series standard pressure versions (35W+).
The Zen 3+architecture is mainly to improve frequency and power management: the maximum frequency of R9-6980HX and R9-6980HS is 5GHz, and AMD claims that the multithreading performance of R7-6800U is improved by 130% (but AMD's 6800U is 28W, not 15W); Reduce idle and high-frequency power consumption, and improve the endurance of mobile devices. AMD claims that the power consumption of web browsing and video playing will be reduced by 15% - 40%.
Other CPU improvements include support for DDR5 memory (DDR5-5200 and LPDDR5-6400), support for PCIe 4.0, USB4 native support (can run Thunderbolt 3), and AV1 hard solution.
Compared with the CPU part, the GPU part is much more exciting. RDNA 2 is the strongest core display in the history of AMD, and its performance is directly doubled. The RDNA 2 core displays 12 groups of CUs, and the frequency is also increased from the previous generation's 2.0GHz to 2.4GHz. The cache is doubled, the raster performance is doubled, the rendering backend is doubled, and ray tracing is supported, Awesome!
Compared with the R7-5800U (15W) of the previous generation, AMD claims that the game performance of the R7-6800U (28W) has increased by 1.8 times to 2 times, 1.2 times to 3 times the performance of competitors in 1080p games. With AMD FidelityFX technology, it is claimed that the number of game frames can be increased by 20% - 60%. In addition, the 35W standard pressure platform and AMD graphics card can use SmartShift Max, allowing the CPU and the unique display to dynamically adjust power to improve performance.
AMD said that the new products equipped with the mobile version of the Sharp Dragon 6000 series processor will be launched in February, and more than 200 related products will be launched in 2022.
Desktop side: 3D V-Cache CPU is coming! See you in the second half of this year!
AMD released the first Reelung processor R7-5800X3D using AMD 3D V-Cache technology. Based on R7-5800X, it is the same with 8-core 16 threads and 105W TDP. However, using 3D V-Cache stackable cache, 64MB of cache is stacked on the original 32MB of cache. L3 cache soared to 96MB, and the frequency dropped from 3.8 to 4.7GHz to 3.4 to 4.5GHz.
R7-5800X3D is a water trial work specially designed for games. It claims that it has a better game processor than R9-5900X and Intel i9-12900K. The huge cache can improve the communication performance of CPU and unique display. It has obvious effects on many games, but it is estimated that it has little impact on the productivity load.
With the same RTX3080, it claims an average increase of 15% over R9-5900X, a maximum increase of 40%, and a maximum increase of 20% over i9-12900K (with DDR5). R7-5800X3D will be launched later in the spring of 2022, and the price has not been announced.
The big news on the desktop side is that AMD said it would release Zen 4 architecture CPU in the second half of 2022. TSMC 5nm process is used, AM5 socket is used instead, supporting DDR5 memory and PCIe 5.0.
AM5 will use Intel's LGA1718 slot instead of PGA. The AMD EPYC processor and thread ripper have used the LGA socket before, and the AMD CPU on the civilian end will not be afraid of bending the CPU pin in the future. The top cover of the Zen 4 CPU is also very special, but it is compatible with the AM4 radiator, and the mounting holes should be universal. AMD did not release other details, and more information is expected to be released in August.
8 notebook graphics cards: AMD also has energy efficiency ratio series
This time, AMD also released the new Radeon RX 6000S series, which claims to be a lightweight notebook design with a thickness of 2kg and less than 2cm. There are three new products, "RX 6800S/6700S/6600S". The target should be Nvidia's Max-Q product, which focuses on improving energy efficiency and aims at 1080p games.

All three models are 7nm Navi 23 core, RDNA 2 architecture, the highest specification RX 6800S is 32 sets of CU, 2048 stream processors, the highest frequency is 1975MHz, 8GB 128bit 16Gbps GDDR6 memory, TGP 100W。
AMD also expanded the Radeon RX 6000M series product line and released RX 6850M XT RX 6650M XT、RX 6650M, RX 6500M and RX 6300M for 6nm process.
Desktop graphics card: fill the entry-level vacancy
AMD also released two entry-level desktop graphics cards of 6nm process, Radeon RX 6500 XT and Radeon RX 6400. TSMC's 6nm transistor density is 15% higher than the previous 7nm. The Radeon RX 6400 is an OEM oriented product, so the price has not been announced. It has 768 stream processors and 4GB GDDR6 video memory.
The Radeon RX 6500XT is dual slot, and only provides HDMI and DP interfaces, Navi 24 GPU, 1024 stream processors, maximum frequency 2.6GHz, SRAM reduced to 16MB, 4GB 64bit GDDR6 video memory (18Gbps). In the official PPT, the game performance of RX 6500XT is 23% to 59% better than that of Nvidia GTX 1650 and its own RX 570. The retail price of RX 6500XT is 199 dollars, about 1270 yuan. It was listed on January 19.
