Meizu was fined 25000 yuan for the advertisement of "three zero system"

On December 27, it was reported that Meizu Technology Co., Ltd. was recently fined more than 25000 yuan by Zhuhai Municipal Market Supervision Administration, according to Tianyan APP.

The reason for this punishment is that the Meizu 18 and Meizu 18 Pro series mobile phones have "weather", "pedometer" and other built-in applications with advertising push, which is inconsistent with the description of no advertising in the "three zero system" promoted. Later, Zhao Jielin, the entrusted person of Meizu, said that the advertising of some of Meizu 18 and 18 Pro's own applications was caused by the failure of the background system, and the rectification was completed on November 4.

It is worth mentioning that the punishment details also show that the total advertising expenses of Meizu's above-mentioned advertising pages from March to July 2021 are only 6300 yuan. For a mobile phone manufacturer with an annual shipment of 20 million units, this advertising revenue can be said to be very poor.

Meizu launched its flagship 18 series in March this year to promote the "three zero system" in the form of eggs - zero advertising, zero push, zero preload. Since then, the updated Flyme 9 of Meizu 17 series has also received the same treatment. However, in September this year, perhaps due to the competitive pressure, Meizu published a letter to Meizu users again, withdrawing the commitment that the "three zero system" will continue to operate on new and old models, and only on Meizu 18 and 18 Pro.
