On the afternoon of December 23, Huawei held its flagship new product launch conference in winter, launching P50 Pocket folding screen mobile phones and other flagship products.
Different from previous generations of Mate X series folding screen phones, Huawei P50 Pocket adopts a folding up and down shape similar to Samsung Z Flip, featuring fashionable and portable features, with an overall weight of 190g and a thickness of 7.2mm when unfolded (15.2mm after folding).
P50 Pocket adopts a new water drop hinge design, which claims to improve the screen flatness by 28%. After expansion, it is a 6.9 inch, 2790 × 1188 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate flexible OLED screen, with a screen scale of 21:9, supporting 1.07 billion color display, primary color display, 1440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming and other characteristics, and its surface is covered with anti reflective nano optical film.
The back of the P50 Pocket is also equipped with a circular secondary screen, which is integrated into the design of "Vientiane Double Ring". The secondary screen supports convenient viewing and operation of a variety of applications. The internal and external screen applications can be seamlessly connected, and provides multiple sets of themes.
In terms of color matching, P50 Pocket provides two conventional color matching: diamond white and obsidian black. The diamond white uses the double-sided three-dimensional micro carving process, while the obsidian black uses the mirror process, which presents different textures.
Huawei also collaborated with Dutch designer Iris van Herpen to bring the P50 Pocket art customized version, which is mainly gold in color. The surface of the fuselage has a number of textures called "light veins".
In terms of image, the P50 Pocket has a 40 million pixel main camera (equivalent to 26 mm, f/1.8), 13 million pixel ultra wide angle (equivalent to 13 mm, f/2.2) and a 32 million pixel hyperspectral camera (equivalent to 30 mm, f/1.8), equipped with a 10 channel multispectral sensor and a hyperspectral fill light.
In terms of other hardware configurations, although it was rumored that the P50 Pocket would be equipped with Kirin 9000 chips, the mass production model eventually used Snapdragon 888 4G chips. The storage configuration provided 8+256GB and 12+512GB, with a built-in 4000mAh battery, and supported 40W wired fast charging.
