Xiaomi Home Announces Support for Self service

On August 19, it was reported that Xiaomi officially announced that its offline store of Xiaomi Home has supported the self pickup service.

Now users can order products online through the Xiaomi Mall APP or the "Xiaomi Lite" WeChat applet (currently there are no relevant options on the official website) and select the Xiaomi Home store in the city where they are located to pick up goods from the store (by virtue of the pick up QR code). At the same time, the official said that they can also enjoy special reception services to help users with after-sales questions, transfer information and other exclusive services.

At present, the "Store" option has appeared on the product page of Xiaomi Mall APP and applet, and the system will give priority to the store nearest to the user and having goods. Xiaomi said that it has more than 2000 stores and some goods. However, at present, many mobile phone products, whether new or non popular models that have been released for some time, are temporarily out of stock in most stores. If it is some IoT products, offline stores may have less stock.

In June this year, Apple officially announced that the Apple Store retail stores in mainland China would launch a similar pick-up service. However, the coverage of the Apple Store in mainland China is relatively concentrated in a few large cities. In contrast, Xiaomi Home has basically covered the third and fourth tier cities in China. The offline pickup service may be more practical for consumers who need it.
