There is always a software recommended for your PC productivity and efficiency

Both mobile phones and tablets used to call for replacing PC, but in the so-called "post PC era", they failed to replace PC. The market returns to rationality and starts to move towards multi screen and multi platform linkage. We also see the "struggle" and efforts of Microsoft Win 11 and cloud computers.

Even if MacOS is installed on the iPad, Windows will still be the largest productivity platform in the foreseeable 10 years. As a heavy text worker, we recommend a wave of Windows platform software this time. There are some personal suggestions and opinions on PC use, hoping to help everyone.

File management tools

File management is one of the core tasks of the desktop platform, but the Windows resource manager is not easy to use. Win 11 is busy changing the UI for the resource manager, and there is no need to hope too much about efficiency. Although there are QTTabBar, Clover and other enhancement tools, it is more recommended to choose Total Commander (TC, old brand, high threshold, keyboard streaming, efficient), XYExplorer (also very strong), OneCommander (with a multi-level directory tree similar to macOS), Multicommander (good picture and video media), or lightweight Q-Dir (can directly display the folder size) and Explorer++(very small and fast) And other products to replace the system resource manager.

The main personal resource manager is Directory Opus, whose main advantages are high customization, complete functions, and natural mouse friendliness. There are powerful shortcut toolbars, batch renaming (not strong enough, you have to find Renamer), decompression, rich preview format support, customized shortcut keys, built-in very perfect synchronization function (can be understood as simplified Goodsync), flat display (spread all subdirectories and files on the current page) The folder content size can be displayed by default (greatly reducing the frequency of using treesize and other file analysis tools).

Directory Opus ↑ after personal minimalist debugging

The main disadvantages of Directory Opus are Expensive, very expensive , too many functions, troublesome debugging. However, its backup and recovery functions are very useful. Once adjusted, it will be useful for life. It is strongly recommended to any user with medium to heavy file management requirements.

The secondary screen occupied by Fences ↑ You can find the desired file without opening the resource manager

Fences is a complementary tool to resource managers. The core purpose is not to partition and organize desktop files, but to map internal files of other disks on the desktop. The effect is to expand folders in different locations on the desktop, in a disguised way, to expand all internal file directories on the desktop, which is the fastest known file movement and sorting scheme. It even gives you functions such as double clicking to hide the desktop, fast switching desktop paging, automatic file classification, and so on. It is a true conscience product.

There are Tencent Desktop Assistant, 360 Desktop Assistant, Kudou Desktop and other simplified free products in China (Xiaobei Desktop, Qianxue Desktop and Cheetah Light Desktop have all been stopped, and the experience is average, so it is not recommended to use them). The customization function is not as much as Fences, but there is also a simple mapping directory function.

Notes and notes software

The essence of note taking software is a document editor with file management. Notion has brought about the modularization trend of block editor (called super notes on impression notes), but as an old school geek, I still love OneNote. Its core is the "note container" function, which can add multiple sub containers anywhere on the page. The effect is equivalent to expanding a large number of notes at the same time. It is true at a glance ↓

OneNote can also make links and directories between notes. The interaction is familiar and natural. It has excellent office format support, convenient word and excel import, and can record and synchronize the editing progress at any time, without fear of various accidents of local devices.

Even in domestic environments, OneNote synchronization rarely encounters problems as long as you successfully log in to your Microsoft account. Its biggest disadvantage is that the "Microsoft Chopper Department" is a threat to local functions, so I still stay in OneNote 2016, which can be backed up locally, and dare not upgrade.

Floay for Sticky Notes ↑

Sticky Notes is a memo that comes with Win 10. It looks ordinary, but it will be synchronized between PCs with Microsoft accounts. On the mobile end, cooperate with the "Floay for Sticky Notes" (click the desktop plug-in, directly pop up the keyboard and hover notes to start editing. The Home key or the return key will automatically exit and save), and seamlessly link computers and mobile phones. The disadvantage is still Microsoft's Schrodinger service in China.

For users who cannot solve Microsoft's access problem, it is recommended to use "Know Notes" as a cross platform memo tool. The main reason is to know that the desktop notes of the computer client are very useful. Click the notes to directly start editing, and automatically save and synchronize in the background. On the other hand, the mobile terminal adds a separate gesture to call out known notes to improve efficiency and remedy the shortcomings of its desktop plug-in. If you like, how can you deploy the local server by yourself? It is just that the mobile synchronization strategy is not smart enough, and sometimes the new notes on the desktop will be overwritten, and the old version needs to be restored manually.

System efficiency software

  • StrokesPlus.net ↑, the mouse gesture is indispensable in life. Moving the window, moving forward and backward, and fast word selection search are all old operations, so I will not introduce them more. StrokesPlus.net has many functions, including gestures, shortcut keys and macros. It will eat some memory. The classic Strokesit has been updated and now supports Win 10. If there is not much demand, it is just, light and simple;

  • 7+Taskbar Tweaker is also a routine Amway taskbar optimization tool. The middle mouse button closes the program, the scroll wheel switches the program, scrolls to adjust the volume in the notification area, quickly calls up the task manager/hides the taskbar, and the functions are simple and practical. Turn on "Do not group locked programs", and can fix the position of "software fixed to the taskbar" (it is really a detour). Win+numbers can be opened quickly without confusion;

  • AltDrag: press alt, click anywhere on the window with the left mouse button to move the window, and press the right mouse button to adjust the length and width of the window;

    GridMove ↑, to quickly move the window in the customized grid block

  • GridMove, a window moving tool without interface. Press the middle mouse button anywhere in the window to trigger. Move the mouse to the set grid to adjust the size and position of the window at the same time. You can also use the shortcut key "ctrl+number" to quickly move and adjust the window. It is necessary for large screen users. The disadvantage is that the text is used to set the position of the square, which is inconvenient and makes people angry;

  • Ditto, the strongest pasteboard. Pasting board history, grouping, plain text pasting, inserting time when pasting, automatic line breaking, automatic capitalization and other functions;

  • Massigra, a lightweight picture browser, has many settings and customizable items. It can be set to hide the title bar and border, and can be used with left or right click to close the file, which is comfortable;

  • ScreenToGif, screen recording directly generates gif, and a good gif editor;

  • OCam: Universal video recording;

  • Xnconvert: image format conversion such as webq, which supports batch processing;

  • Volume2, the system tray roller adjusts the volume, and the shortcut key adjusts the brightness and volume;

  • TrafficMonitor, the task bar displays CPU, memory usage and uplink and downlink network speeds;

  • Networx network traffic statistics.

System debugging tools

  • Extended GodMode ↑: Enhanced God mode, with search function, adding common settings to the collection, which is much better than the system's own settings;

  • Registry Jump: registry jump tool, paste the text address of the registry, and automatically jump to the target, saving layers of points;

  • Right click the butler: as the name implies, the advantage is that the on-off operation, no backup, no fear of rollover;

  • Card hardware toolbox: help you integrate AIDA 64, CPU-Z and other various computer test software, update them irregularly, convenient

  • As for Startup Delayer (control and sorting of startup items), Seer (preview pictures by spaces), Firefly (360's common functions are available, but there are no advertisements and hooligans), and Dism++are old tools, so I will not blow them.

Strange and scary software

  • RevokeMsgPatcher: As its name implies, it allows WeChat on the PC side to be multi opened and anti withdrawn, and supports QQ/TIM and QQ chat. Click the button to complete the injection, comfortable!

  • ManicTime: crazy time record, which automatically reads the program name activated by the taskbar. When to open the software and how long to open it are all recorded, including automatic tags and statistics. I have never kept a diary since I used it. If your girlfriend/wife has the habit of checking the post, remember to open the built-in password protection and hidden tray icon functions;

  • AutomaticScreenshotter: Automatic screenshot is a "diary" tool with ManicTime. It can automatically take screenshots on a regular basis, and it can also be set to trigger screenshots when switching windows. The screenshot naming rules, quality, and screenshot area can all be customized. Also can't be found by the girlfriend/wife who likes to check the post;

  • Weibo Elk Toolbox, an automatic microblog processing tool for "farewell to black history", sets "only visible to yourself" or deletes microblogs in batch;

  • We all know, but don't say much about everything, wox (generally used as a calculator and quick search box), Snippate (a very useful, heavy/resource hungry screenshot tool), Windows File Recovery (Microsoft's official command line data recovery tool), and so on.

Personal computer/backup habit

  • The Windows platform does not have the same function as the macOS "time machine", so even a 120G SSD has to be divided into an additional 20G disk to store software. Don't believe the myth that "one partition is enough in this era". In many cases, the system attacks the street, and the fastest solution is to reinstall. An additional partition to store software and data can save a lot of effort. After the system is reinstalled, the office is installed, and the new patch is installed, remember to make an image backup immediately.

  • For various reasons, Windows does not have a software package backup tool like Android Titanium Backup/OAndBackupX. For non green software, you have to manually find the software settings file in the C disk ProgramData, Users User Name AppData and other folders for backup.

  • When installing the software, change the C of the address bar "C: Program Files (x86) XXX" to D, and add numbers to the folders according to the frequency of use or your own classification habits, so as to fix their order and facilitate searching and management.

  • Open the setting synchronization function of Microsoft account, and synchronize most system settings after reinstallation. You can also create system restore points regularly (the entry is in System Properties - System Protection) in case of emergency, which can effectively reduce the frequency of system reinstallation.

  • Data backup is an old saying. Periodically use computer WeChat to back up mobile WeChat, find a mobile hard disk and regularly use FreeFileSync/GoodSync to back up important data. The synchronization function of Directory Opus is also good, and even fastcopy, a replication tool, can make do with it.

  • If you have formed the habit of backup, you will most likely go to NAS in the end. Whether you are building your own FreeNAS/TrueNAS or buying a ready-made QNAP of Qunhui/Weiunicom, you don't need to bother with version management after you have snapshots, which will not only make you feel that your time and money are not wasted, but also create the illusion that you can "graduate".

  • As for the array, due to the difficulty of recovery, the individual has abandoned the pit, and has chosen to add an additional NAS for offsite backup. Now it is time to start from the main machine of the company and synchronize with the main group of Huihui in our hometown. We also live in Taiwan Qunhui, which starts up for one hour every day to synchronize core data in one direction. The company also has a FreeNAS using SMB, and FreeFileSync does image backup every day. In addition to the main PC itself, there are four sets of hard disk backups for core data. They graduate silently, and then wait for a hard disk to collapse one day (masochistic. jpg)

In addition to a few paid software such as Fences and Manictime, the rest have been uniformly packaged to the dial and linked //pan.baidu.com/s/1TzJhmXUrjuDW_cUFBKyh4Q , extraction code: tuig
