On June 17, it was reported that Liu Zuohu, CEO of Yijia Mobile, issued an announcement in the overseas Yijia community today that the Yijia team would further integrate with the OPPO team to grasp more resources and create better products for users, At the same time, Yijia brand will continue to operate independently (Liu Zuohu also said that oxygen OS will still be the system carried by overseas Yijia mobile phones when replying to netizens' questions).
This announcement is generally consistent with an internal letter from Liu Zuohu to Yijia employees disclosed by Tencent's Shenwang column earlier.
The internal letter said that the OnePlus team will be fully merged with OPPO team, and OnePlus will become a sub brand operated independently under OPPO (OPPO and OnePlus previously belonged to a sister brand relationship, both under the European Canada Group).
As of press time, OnePlus has not officially announced this news to domestic users.
Of course, the further integration of OPPO and OnePlus in terms of organizational structure and brand relationship is not surprising. As early as the end of last year, it was reported that the two R&D departments had merged. This year, the OnePlus 9 series of new machines gave up the original hydrogen OS to carry the colorOS developed by OPPO.
However, after the completion of brand and team integration, Yijia's products may be supported by OPPO's stronger publicity and after-sales system.
