Apple Music will support Dolby Panorama Sound and Lossless Audio: Go online in June, no extra money

On May 18, it was reported that last night, Apple announced in its official press release that its Apple Music will bring two major updates in June: one is the spatial audio function that supports Dolby full scene sound, and the other is the lossless audio option for 75 million songs in the music library, both of which do not require users to pay additional subscription fees.

Officially, Dolby Panorama is a breakthrough immersive audio experience, which can make the sound linger around and on the top of the space through mixing. AirPods and Beats earphones equipped with H1 or W1 chips, as well as speakers of the latest versions of iPhone, iPad and Mac, will play Dolby panoramic sound tracks by default; It is reported that albums that support Dolby Panorama Sound will be identified on the detail page, and Apple Music will continue to add new Dolby Panorama Sound tracks and create related playlists.

Compared with Apple's ten thousand year AAC, the addition of lossless audio is undoubtedly a significant progress in terms of sound quality. The official said that all songs in Apple Music music library can be presented lossless audio. This function needs to be turned on in the setting. The audio is in the ALAC format. In the setting, 44.1 kHz/16 bit, 48 kHz/24 bit and up to 192 kHz/24 bit sound quality options are provided.

However, Apple also pointed out that if you want to experience the lossless audio of Apple Music, you need to use external devices such as USB decoding earphones. The AirPods series that still use the low bit rate AAC transmission protocol will not be able to have this experience (foreign media said the AirPods Max wired mode is also not good), I don't know whether Apple will introduce related accessories or adopt a new high bit rate transmission protocol in the future for lossless audio.
