LetsGoDigital announced that Samsung is expected to release a double fold screen and double hinge mobile phone called Galaxy Z Roll or Galaxy Z Slide in 2022. Unlike the Galaxy Z Fold, which was previously reported as "Z-fold", this time the rendered image is provided with folding hinges on both sides. It can solve the problem that the "traditional double fold screen" mobile phone is too thick when folded.

On the rendering, the most divorced from reality is that the concept machine can not only be outside, but also inside fold. It was even considerate to reserve space for S Pen after folding. After the phone is unfolded, the S Pen is fixed by the side frame magnet.

Even ignoring the technical difficulty of supporting internal and external folding at the same time, the Galaxy Z Fold Tab concept machine is an external folding screen scheme similar to Huawei Mate X/Xs, while double hinges, screen material stretching, screen scratch resistance, hinge life, mechanical structure occupying internal space, etc. will be design difficulties.

At the end of May, South Korean media reported that Samsung expected the sales volume of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 that had not yet been released by Samsung would reach 7 million units, more than 2.5 times that of the previous generation of products. The sales volume of Galaxy Z Flip series is expected to be between 3.5 million and 4 million.

Industry analysts are obviously much more conservative. They expect that the sales of Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 will total around 3 million units.
