Huawei Hongmeng HarmonyOS 2.0 mobile phone developer beta will open online public beta recruitment for developers on December 16, 2020. After three months of public testing, on March 16, Weibo reported that all Huawei models (including Glory) with more than Kirin 710 chips could be upgraded to HarmonyOS.
The digital blogger @ Chang'an Digital Jun who broke the news this time is a classic source of information about Huawei, with a high degree of reliability. He said that after communication and verification with relevant personnel, it is temporarily determined that the models equipped with Huawei Kirin 710 chip or above (it is not clear for the time being whether Kirin 710 is included or not) will be upgraded to Huawei Hongmeng Harmony OS, regardless of Huawei or Glory.
From the 2018 Kirin 980 (Mate20 series/P30 series), to the Kirin 810, the Kirin 990 series (including the Kirin 990 4G/990 5G/990E), the Kirin 820/820E, the Kirin 985, and the Kirin 9000/9000E, a large number of mobile phones can be upgraded to the Huawei Hongmeng system core. There will be a special introduction meeting when the message is confirmed later.
What is more special is that the first batch of models using Hongmeng system did not include the new flagship Mate40 series, but Huawei P40/P40 Pro, Huawei Mate30/Mate30 Pro and Huawei MatePad Pro.
Many Huawei/Glory users have been waiting for the Hongmeng system for a long time, but there is still a need to popularize science here: the interaction is mainly affected by the "surface" EMUI/Magic UI, while the Hongmeng system is used to replace the original Android bottom layer, affecting the system bottom layer and application development. The actual interaction of users after the upgrade will not be much different from the original system.
