With the rapid promotion of domestic 5G network construction and the gradual popularity of 5G mobile phones in the past two years, various operators are also changing ways to let users upgrade 5G packages (however, many users do not want to upgrade), but there are some misleading or forcing behaviors to open 5G packages for users without consent.
In response to these phenomena, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently issued a notice on improving 5G service quality, which clearly stipulates.
The notice stressed that all telecom operators need to "strictly abide by four marketing red lines and earnestly safeguard the rights and interests of users", including:
It is necessary to objectively and truthfully publicize 5G business and fees, and publicize the full volume of packages on sale. It is not allowed to unilaterally exaggerate 5G advantages or preferential items, conceal or dilute restrictive conditions;
Respect the real will of users, do not mislead or force users to handle or upgrade 5G packages, and do not open 5G packages, upgrade packages and other services without the consent of users;
If there is no agreement, the 5G package user shall not be restricted from changing other packages on sale. If the 5G package user has an agreement to change the package, it can negotiate with the user to terminate the contract in accordance with the Civil Code of the People's Republic of China;
Ensure that the online, online and offline channels of the high, medium and low-end 4G and 5G packages on sale carry the sales, and the 4G package inquiry and processing entrance shall not be hidden.
