DxOMark HomePod mini evaluation: ranked last?
DxOMark HomePod mini evaluation: ranked last?

On December 24, it was reported that DxOMark recently released the evaluation report of Apple's latest smart speaker HomePod mini, and the product was finally rated 98 points.

On the previous DxO page, HomePod mini, together with Google Home Max, Huawei Sound X, HomePod and others, were ranked among the "ADVANCED" high-end smart speakers. HomePod mini temporarily ranked the bottom of the list, while interestingly, its eldest brother HomePod was ranked the bottom, with 113 points.

However, it has just been officially included in the "ESSENTIAL" standard speakers, ranking in the middle, so HomePod is now the last but one of the high-end smart speakers.

In terms of DxO, HomePod mini lacks in bass performance, and its maximum volume is low. At the same time, bass distortion is its main disadvantage when the volume is turned up. Of course, the DxO evaluators praised HomePod mini's small size advantages and performance in medium and high frequencies.

This year, DxOMark has set foot in the evaluation of mobile phone screens, smart speakers and other aspects in addition to the original evaluation of mobile phone cameras and professional cameras. However, like its evaluation of mobile phone cameras, the evaluation of these new categories is increasingly questioned in terms of professionalism and credibility.

What do you think of HomePod mini?
